Getting Away From Sony Alphas Entirely

I currently own my second Sony Alpha, an a350. I started with an a200. I've learned enough about photography now to become a little more advanced. I had really hoped to upgrade to an a850 or 900 one day. Sony has a quality control problem in my opinion. My a200 was retired due to the issue of the er...

Replacement Lens Mounts

I doubt it, but anyone know if it's possibly to change the mount on a Sony Alpha to that of a Nikon or Canon?

They have the kits for Sigmas and some others, I'm asking because I've never seen one for Sony(and doubt I ever will).

Sigma Rubber Help

Anyone got a solution for sigma rubber that is tacky/sticky?

I don't want to use tape, that just looks haggard. Is there any sort of material I can replace it with?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Lens Decision time.....Bigma....or....?

Well I went ahead and ordered the 70-200mm 2.8. I used to have the 70-200mm BEFORE the HSM. I loved it then and I'm sure it's even better now.

Free shipping and a digital picture frame, plus I had a $50 gift card. Not too bad of a deal :).

Lens Decision time.....Bigma....or....?

Well, I am finally able to afford another telephoto. I am torn between the following: Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 HSM Sigma 50-500mm (does this have HSM now or what?) Sigma 150-500mm HSM My questions are: 1. I like taking pictures at the zoo, but occasional fast moving objects as well. Is the 50-500mm withou...

Re: Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 II EX DG APO Macro HSM

Hi, I've had one of these lenses on my Alpha since November. It is great, I'd avoid using any teleconverters, AF tends to go a little crazy, it does the "range" cycle when using one instead of picking up focus right away. Even in bright sunlight, the teleconverter makes the lens very soft....

Replacement LCD screens?

I'm using a Sony Alpha A350. The LCD screen is pretty dim in sunlight, it's barely readable. I'm not sure a new LCD is the way to go, but anyone know of replacement ones? I do like the new 230/330/380 series with the white backgrounds and black text, much easier to see. Wish a firmware update came o...

Re: "No Lens Attached" Sony Alpha with a Sigma Minolta Lens

I've figured out how to reproduce the problem. When I zoom all the way out to 28mm, the lens cuts off, I think it has something to do with the interior glass moving forward and being just enough to 'nudge' it off the contacts. As soon as I zoom in just a little, it powers back on. Anyhow, the seller...

"No Lens Attached" Sony Alpha with a Sigma Minolta Lens

Hi, I have a Sony Alpha A200 with numerous lenses(Sony, Minolta, Sigma, etc.). All work fine. I'm attached a Sigma 28-70mm 2.8 EX lens, yes, it's AF. When I attempt to take a picture, it acts like no lens is attached: --AF does not kick in at all --Error message pops up saying "No Lens Attached...

Sony Alpha Wireless Flash Help

Hey gang, I'm using a Sony A200. I have a Sigma EF-500 Super and want to use wireless. I've figured out how to use it with the on-camera flash as the activator. But what about the whole channel 1/2 part of wireless? Is the Sigma EF500 compatible, it can select the channel. Any help is appreciated.

Sigma EF-500 EF500 Super -- Underexposure Solution

Hi, Despite my novice-level knowledge and the countless people mentioning their images being underexposed with the Sigma flashes, I ordered one from eBay. It got here, and my worst nightmare came true--all my pictures were extremely dark, underexposed, and not even AEL with compensation fixed it. I ...

Aftermarket Vertical Grip for Alpha A200

Anyone know/heard of companies making a third party vertical grip for the Alpha A200?

I've seen them for the A100, but nothing else.
