Given the amount of electronics involved, I'd be happy if my A350 would work for 10yrs. I am no electronic expert but I wouldn't think these latest SSM equipped Sony lenses could live as long as those old manual lenses built like a tank! From the minute I decided to buy the ZA24-70 I was kind of wor...

Re: CARL ZEISS 135MM F3.5 M42 SCREW FIT LENS
David, Guess I wasn't thinking like these new(er) cameras do....I believe "AEL" lock is the answer to my question above. Maybe I should really try to forget what I have learned with my Nikomat from the 70's and starting thinking like newer cameras do.... Thanks again for a great for...

Re: CARL ZEISS 135MM F3.5 M42 SCREW FIT LENS
Yes, it is a Carl Zeiss Jena optic made in the former East German factory, CZ Jena (the use of the full name Carl Zeiss was not permitted). It is a simple design, probably a Tele-Tessar rather than a Sonnar which the Contax specification 135mm would become (extra cemented doublet in place of a sing...

Did I miss something here....
After reading what's available on the A900 I don't recall reading anything on the processor bit size (12/14/16bit) on colour handling? Did I just missed this info somewhere? Also, has anyone done any testing on the dynamic range of the A900 as opposed to the A700? I think this would be interesting t...
