I pretty happy with the lens but quite often feel it's a bit short... So in due time (when I stack up a big enough money pile) I'm thinking of replacing it with something else. /Zeb! How about complementing it with a reasonable zoom, rather than replacing it? Unless you fear switching lenses often,...

Ok, my bad - I thought that the D meant it was for APS-C sensor type cameras only... may have confused it with some other manufacturers nomenclature (?) I know what FF means, but since I thought that a "D" type lens wouldn't cut it I assumed the cropped APS-C format of A900 would be used....

Unless final production samples of the 16-35mm f2.8 eliminate strong moustache shape distortion at 16mm plus fairly crisp colour fringes, the 17-35mm D strikes me as the best buy I ever made. I can tell you now, because I have received samples and worked with the files, that the 17-35mm D on the A9...

Well, no Alpha 900 in my hands yet (and not likely in the near future, but I'm not into buying DT lenses either, just in case the 900 gets affordable some day) - but I had the chance to use my 70-210/4 beercan (cost me 60 Euros at the time everyone was switching to ???on while KoMi wouldn't deliver)...
