If Bakubo

can go back in time then so can I. RX1 shot handheld at 1/10 and f16. Light cameras make slow shutter speeds possible. I wanted to show motion and stillness. The young man had incredible club head speed and my good friend was willing to be still during the capture. I like the contrast. https://a4.pb...

Re: It's Been a Long Time

No excuses. Had not shot with the RX1 in a while. Bracketing never occurred to me and am not sure that it would work if handheld. One thing for sure, the free version of Capture 1 for Sony is lacking in essential tools that are and were provided in Lightroom. Time to make an upgrade. I feel like the...

Re: A99-2

Do you ever shoot video with the a99II?
I seem to be one version behind.
That lens seems to be quite the challenge.
When do you decide to carry it along?

#3 in the September 4 set is so close. Background foils the perfection.
Still like it though.

It's Been a Long Time

since I rock and rolled. Traveled to the east coast of Virginia. Yes, for golf. But I got a chance to visit the small town of Cape Charles. Bad weather. Bad light. Limited software capabilities. Excuses over. RX1 https://a4.pbase.com/g12/64/511964/2/171048567.X9qbPgTP.jpg https://a4.pbase.com/g12/64...

It's Why We Own Cameras

At least it occurred to me last evening when I was able to photograph my neighbors. No specs required. https://a4.pbase.com/g12/64/511964/2/170955465.mKyZ01uh.jpg https://a4.pbase.com/g12/64/511964/2/170955472.lcLNP5Cz.jpg https://a4.pbase.com/g12/64/511964/2/170955473.a0sSm27g.jpg https://a4.pbase....

Re: Hawk in the backyard

Juveniles don't know to avoid humans. A long time ago, I was attempting to record my golf swing at the club driving range. This guy appears at the bottom of the range. Of course I stop all of the range goers and walk down and snap this youngster mimicking hiding it's capture. https://a4.pbase.com/u1...

Re: Pompino Beach, California

Sury,
My comment about shooting the shot just a little differently referred to the first shot in the thread.
As for lighting, I usually eliminate highlights, and then lighten shadows and then bump exposure to get back any sky light. You use Lightroom correct?

Re: Pompino Beach, California

Well Sury, you are either a slow photographer or you wife is a fast walker. Regardless, you are way behind. Some of the shots are a bit dark on my screen. I would lighten up the shadows a tad. Regarding shot #1, we have been told not to have a dominant center line on landscapes. However, in this cas...

A bit late in the year for the young ones to leave the nest but...
Can't wait to she the others.
Nice choices on the cropping.
