Re: DSC-R1 V CZ 16-80
No loss of image quality with the 16-80 compared with R1. Maybe distortion at 16mm is a little bit higher but Zeiss colours, contrast and sharpness are still there.

Re: Minolta 200mm 2.8 APO unbreakable ...
Thank you Franck for your very interesting answer. That's exactly what I wanted to know. I've just received a Minolta TC1.4 and you're right concerning image quality: almost no difference even at 100% pixel peeping, amazing! But much slower autofocus

Re: Minolta 200mm 2.8 APO unbreakable ...
Hi! Do you use Minolta TC (1.4 and 2x) with this lens and what do you think about loss of image quality wide open?

Re: DSC-R1 V CZ 16-80
Hi! Compared to R1, the 16/80 lens looks and feels "cheap", I mean it doesn't seem so solidly built. Talking about image quality at 200iso , I think the R1 wins at least in the wide angle range but since I bought the A700-16/80 combo, I don't use the R1 anymore (autofocus, high iso, flexib...

Re: Minolta 100mm f/2
Wow, my first topic is still active! Thanks guys for your advices but at the end I gave up the famous Minolta 100/2... because I've found a nice CZ 85/1.4 which is really amazing, and not only for portraits!

Re: Minolta 100mm f/2
Wow! Thanks for all your advices. In fact the one I've found costs 550 euros in very good condition so probably 100 euros cheaper than a good 85mm1.4. However I'm still not sure if it's a good lens for me. It seems to me from the following review (in italian) and from dyxum that there's a kind of ba...

Re: Blossomville
Thanks! This was done with the 70-300 at 210mm and the funny bubbles are dew drops (rosée). It's not fantastic but I'm quite happy with this picture, I had to wake up early (for me )several successive days to find some dew with a nice backlight.

Re: Minolta 100mm f/2
We sure would like more choice (cheaper primes) but I like Zeiss glass and my 50mm 1.4 is my favourite lens so if Sony decides to sell a fast CZ short prime, I will have to explain to Mrs.Ghor why I NEED another lens....

Re: Minolta 100mm f/2
lol I did not realise how highly rated is this lens! Is it better than the 85mm1.4G for portraits? Or is it just rare to find?

Hello from France
Hello! I didn't notice this part of the forum before my first post so here I am. I'm 33, I'm french and I started taking pictures with my father's Yashica SLR and then in the beginning of the digital photography with a HP compact (huge with a tiny screen, one focal length and no memory card  ),...
