Re: Variable ND filter
Lonnie this is exactly I am looking for. Perfect picture! There was a post that started about 3 weeks ago about "leaving things behind......." I think David started it, well for this trip I have the opposite problem. As soon as school is out and the kids are done I am hooking up my 32' fif...

I have a giottos besalt lava tripod (7370) and am very happy with it. I also have an iDURO (C114) carbon tripod and happy as well especially when traveling. I have been using the manfrotto 322rc2 head on both with great results. My wife is starting to really get interested in this photo thing so I n...

Re: Relocation: which lenses to bring?
Will the kenko 300 pro fit "physically" on the 35, 50 and 10-20? I was told that the flange is to small to accept the 50 and 35? If it does that would really be a plus! I know Walt will be watching this reply then. I thought only the MC4 and MC7 could be used on the 50mm 1.4 and 35mm 1.4? ...

Re: kenko teleplus DG pro 300
When I called THK Photo a couple weeks ago ( US distribution for Kenko products) I asked about the MC4 and MC7 DGX versions. They said they would be for sale in the US late April. He said $99 for the MC4 and $149 for the MC7 versions are the projected costs. I just looked at BH for the nikon and can...

Re: kenko teleplus DG pro 300
I have both the sony 1.4x and the 2x and have tried them on the 70-400G. I was under the assumption that NO teleconverters would work on af because the 1.4x take it to F8 and 2x is F11 on the A700. Are you saying the kenko versions do work af on the 70-400? I was looking at the new dgx models. I cal...

Re: Changing 72 DPI to 300 DPI?
I am getting a grip on this subject area now though I must admit I don't totally understand it. I never really understood the dpi/ exif dpi data res etc. relationships or paid much attention to it. ( In photoshop I always just set the image to 8x12-300res and got good results when printing in the pa...

Re: Changing 72 DPI to 300 DPI?
The program that I am designing the yearbook on is an internet based program provided by the yearbook company (by Jostons the biggest yearbook, book photo provider in North America. Sears, Walmart, JCPenny all use this same program.) The program is simple and easy to use I am teaching it to Middle S...

Re: Changing 72 DPI to 300 DPI?
I should be more specific "picture resolution" not exactly DPI because that could mean also the size of the picture! Sorry! Set the A700 to say 300 res instead of 72 res? Any Ideas or......... a better procedure than opening up every file and resaving it?

Changing 72 DPI to 300 DPI?
This is probably a dumb question for many of you who print a lot of photos but I am putting together a local yearbook for a school and the program they are using requires 150-300 dpi for printing quality. I have sent enough pictures in before to understand that 300 dpi is the standard norm for gloss...

Re: Kenko 2X Teleplus MC-7 DG
I just received an e-mail yesterday from THKphoto (Kenko) that the new Kenko MC7 AF DGX series is released. (2.0/1.4/1.5) Sony is not listed as a mount! (eos/nikon only) There is also a MC4 AF DGX series released. Again No Sony! Hopefully they are holding sony for a later release in March? I checked...

Re: Getting Away From Sony Alphas Entirely
David I agree with you. I do alot of tinker'n with electricity. I am in a battle bot robot competition and batteries are a the most important part. To me is sounds liker a battery issue not a lens issue. If the lens is causing the contact to depress or scrape you would see it. They are also spring l...

Re: 2 second timer on the A700
Thanks everyone! my 2 second timer it is working fine. The remote commander does work fine on the 2 second timer and the timer does also work on the camera. I was just confused when the commander did one thing, the 300 did something different and yet the 700 set manually did something different yet....

Re: 2 second timer on the A700
If what you are saying Kevin is correct then mine is working. I am going to us simple words and sounds so that nobody get confused. I think I am correct but I just want to make sure. 1 set the timer to 2 seconds using the FN or drive mode 2 Push the shutter button half way down and it beeps using au...
