Which of these 3 lenses would you prefer?

I am just about to get my Nex 7 and will sell my A55 and some A-mount lenses. I have ordered the CZ 24 1.8 and SEL50 1.8 to go with a LA-EA2. I already have a CZ 16-80 and 70-400G that I will be keeping. Up for sale will be a SAL50 1.4, Minolta 28-75 2.8 and Tamron 90 2.8 Macro. Debating on keeping/...

Re: Sony looks to change the world of DSLRs - Masashi 'Tiger

It's a business, not a service to enthusiast photographer's. You never seem to understand this. The only way to get to 20% and more is by changing the game. They should concentrate on making exceptionally good well designed DSLR cameras the A700 deserves another crack not SLT but DSLR using a good ...

Re: Sony looks to change the world of DSLRs - Masashi 'Tiger

Japan is an interesting market but if you combine Europe and the USA they are far bigger. I'm sure NEX is doing pretty well but it's unlikely to be selling to the same levels in other regions. And the overall market is still dominated by..traditional DSLR's from the top 2 makers the SLT rankings in...

Re: 85/2.8 35/1.8 24/2 MTF curves on sony Japan

The MTF chart for the 35mm F1.8 only shows part of the frame?? I thought it should go to 20 like averyone else? Oh thats cause it's a DT lens... it doesn't do full frame I could not resist the Sony at $175. I got it this past week and spent an hour with it. 1/60 @1.8, ISO 400 Wrong direction window...

Any comments on the 35/1.8 chart?

I am not real adept at reading these things and I am considering this and the 30/1.4 Sigma.

Re: Selling some old lens and getting replacements. please help

Lets start with the the standard zoom... Get a Tamron 28-75 or a used KM 28-75 2.8. I also have a CZ 16-80 and also own a KM 28-75. I use the KM VERY infrequently, but I am happy with it when I use it. I would advise saving you money for a good 70-200 and not get something in this range. If you need...

Re: 550 v 700

Sony UK doesn't want me to see an A550 earlier than they choose. I've already got one dealer into trouble (earful from Mr Sony for even talking to me about obtaining an A550). I suspect they think it may take away sales from remaining A700s - I rather doubt it. I would suggest the A700 is an except...

Re: What lenses do you use?

I, unfortunately, have too many interests and this requires more lenses than I would have hoped for. I almost always have the CZ 16-80 on one A700 and the Sony 70-400 on the other A700 (quick bird shots out the back door). When I know I will be indoors I have a Sony 50 1.4 on 1 and a KM 28-75 on the...

Re: Sigma 70200/2.8 review by DK?

I hope this also helps A900 and A700 users understand why ISO 320 is so useful - we are now shooting everything on both cameras at ISO 320 or 160 because of the significant quality gain when processing these settings from raw, compared to 200 or 400. David David, Could you write up some more about ...

Some 70-400 bird images up

I shot some 3000 images on my week long trip to Florida. Many of these were with the new 70-400G. Have a look at my Zenfolio site for many images (some 70-200G images as well). http://tkunkel.zenfolio.com/p332971164 I am very satisfied with this lens and I will not be able to use my Tamron 200-500 e...
