Re: A77 Zeiss 16-80 vs A900 Zeiss 24-70
I think it's a pretty universal conclusion that if one is simply talking sharpness, that the Zeiss 24-70 is pretty much the sharpest lens in the Sony stable of zoom lenses. I've gotten unbelievable results out of it on my A900....

Re: Fall in Utah
So it snowed here yesterday. I was really excited to get up in the mountains and get some fall leave and snow together. I left the house early, and when I got up in the mtns, I quickly realized it was going to be a bust. The light went flat, there was almost TOO MUCH snow and a TON of tree damage. I...

Re: My 77is locked up
Maybe since it takes them no more than 10 mins to "fix" the camera (upgrade the firmware), the turn around times are very short...

Re: Sony quality control problems
There is a note of the clicking in the online reviews on amazon (it's the first item addressed). It doesn't seem to be inhibiting folks.

Re: Sony quality control problems
Regardless of what everyone here thinks of the 5n and the clicking problem in video, it's still Sony's top selling camera right now on Amazon.com (#11 as of this posting...)

Re: A99?
Sony has had teething problems with the A77 and 5N lately though. Hopefully, the glitches are temporary. If I pay over £1,100 for a camera, I don't want "teething troubles" or "glitches", I want a quality that reflects what I just paid out, and a camera that will at least work w...

Re: A99?
We'll see. I think a lot will depend on whether Sony can salvage their reputation from the ashes of the a77 disaster. Calling a totally fixable software glitch that hit only a limited number of cameras a disaster, is more than just a bit overblown. You've seen this right?? From S.A.R. If you are al...

Re: Cloudy morning view, Washerwoman Arch, Utah
Lonnie, the three days I spent at Mesa Arch was really an educational experience on how light interacts with the earh. I posted a black and white picture as an addendum to the original post. One can never get tired of studying and photographing the variations of light on such a beautiful land. You'...

Re: Fall in Utah
Went back to the same general area last night and revisited a few things. I just feels good to get back out a little bit. On the plus side I got these images, on the down side, I lost the brass "finger bolt" off my lee holder. #4 http://www.landshapephotography.com/img/v28/p927057949-4.jpg...
