Re: Who needs FF now?

I do. The quality I get (better said, got ) from my A900 is unmatched by anything else I own or can imagine owning. I have this mindset that whatever picture I will take with something else - and I did a lot of that lately, forced by the events - I will always keep wondering 'how much better it coul...

Re: NEX -- Why only 2 e-mount lenses?

I'd say the choice of a 16mm prime + wide angle converter is surprising. Ceratinly Sony has done it for a reason, maybe to seduce all those who found that their 35mm or 38mm P&S is not wide enough. For me,16mm is too wide. Give me a 30 or 35mm F2 to convince me. And oh, btw, somewhere they quot...

Re: kenko teleplus DG pro 300

Let us know if you find out please! I already ordered the SAL14TC because I didn´t want to wait any longer, but always in for a good bargain of course...

Re: kenko teleplus DG pro 300

Are you sure of that quote and release date? As I understand it, the only close match to the Sony, according to Walt would be a Pro 300 DGX... A lot more than 99$, but still a very good deal compared to the SAL14TC. Especially in Switzerland... :(

Re: kenko teleplus DG pro 300

That´s confirmed, a few here seem to have the Sony mounted: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1037&message=34538467 I might not have a choice anyway, it´s either a positive reply before the end of this week from the only retailer I found, or I will have to purchase the Sony. Unles...

Re: kenko teleplus DG pro 300

It depends a bit on what Sony website you visit, but at least Sony Japan says you can... :?

Re: kenko teleplus DG pro 300

It´s kind of hard to find though, even the US stores exporting abroad (B&H for one!) have it ´Discontinued´ or don´t list it. There is a small remote possibility I might get one from a local retailer in Switzerland, but that one didn´t update his website for ages now, it might not be available a...

Re: Eye Start on a550 but not a900?

There´s only one able to answer the initial question: Sony... First time I had it on a camera, I thought ´nice´ and was pleased with the innovation. Two weeks later I switched it off forever. I am now pleased it´s taken off, makes one parameter less to set. The sensor now serves to save batttery, wh...

Re: Gallery for Sigma 20-40/f2.8

I think I was lucky with this lens, for me it´s perfect for landscape indeed but I cannot imagine any other use.
Are you saying not even the 16-35 CZ is doing the job for you?
What wide primes do you use instead?

Re: Gallery for Sigma 20-40/f2.8

I thought you might like a virtual travel again when I selected the few shots. ;) David, I trust you on your words, am not interested in these lenses anymore, although I must confess the 20/f1.8 had my attention at some point. Other reviews stated exactly what you say, and I couldn´t find a shop wit...

Re: Gallery for Sigma 20-40/f2.8

Hi David, Do you mean you got that vignetting at all apertures, not just wide open? I never checked mine on my Dynaxes - still could, they never give up! :) - as I bought it for the A100 in 2006. Almost at the end of its life, it was discontinued shortly after (end 2007 I think). The A900´s sensor i...

Gallery for Sigma 20-40/f2.8

Yet another one... I have put a small roll of pictures online, taken with this lens in front of the α900: http://www.stil-pictures.com/Photography/Lenses/Sigma-20-40-F28-EX-DG-ASP/10460397_g8xNw#725762324_WRhjc Same disclaimer as usual, there´s a rudimentary protection on them, but X3Large should gi...

Re: New galery for Sigma 12-24/f4.5-5.6

I can agree with that, utimately, it´s the pictures (and the story if any) that matter, whatever the equipment. In fact, I shot a very nice picture (imho) this week, with my first lens ever, Minolta 35-105/f3.5-4.5. The one that came as kit with the Dynax 7000i. :) Always in the bag as it takes up a...
