Re: Loch Lomond

Thanks Greg. :) It was a delicate balance. I was hoping to have picked up some more light on the ground during the long exposure, in order to show the tree's root system which is visible above the ground, but if I exposed the shot any longer, then I'd get star trails, so this shot didn't actually tu...

Loch Lomond

Hi guys. I was out tonight with my camera for the first time in a while, and I was determined to brave the freezing cold and head to the shores of Loch Lomond. I actually met another Sony Alpha user while I was there, but I only saw the "alpha spotting" thread when I got back, otherwise I ...

Hi David.
Yes, it's on The Mound in Edinburgh, taken on the last night of the festive light display.

The other shot is in the grounds of Bothwell Castle during the recent snowfall.

Re: Edinburgh

Thanks for the comments guys. Appreciate it.

In the 1st shot, the lights from the big wheel really gave me an interesting effect in the long exposure. The monument doesn't always look like that, lol :D

And I love using my 11-18mm wide angle lens on these kinds of shots.

Re: Edinburgh

Thanks for the comments folks. It's great to get feedback from you. And yeah, the Castle does make an interesting subject on it's own, but EVERYONE who visits Edinburgh takes pictures of the Castle. I just thought I'd show a slightly different view of Edinburgh, but here is one from the couple of do...

Edinburgh

Hi guys

I'm new to the forum, and I look forward to getting to know you all.

I don't get out with my camera half as much as I'd like to, but I thought I'd start by sharing the most recent images taken on my a700.
They were taken in Edinburgh, at the beginning of January.

Hi folks

Hi guys, Finally! I've found a photography forum which isn't over-run by Nikon and Canon users  Just kidding. I'm from Glasgow, and I've been using the A700 for a couple of years now. This looks like a great place to learn, help and share with other Sony users, and I'm looking forward to ge...
