Re: Weddings

thats a funny clip..... sadly, there is a lot of poor quality photography out there. Horror stories abound.....the judge was right though, and they should have been prepared for any and all situations that might arise. Several 2.8 lenses should have been in their kit, and they would have been ok. I ...

Re: Weddings

Thank you David, this is really the kind of input I was hoping to get from this thread. How have you found the processing of A900 images? Do you find yourself spending more or less time to process them versus other systems?[/quote] Processing is handled by my staff, but its the same download procedu...

Re: Weddings

Hi all, I'm new here! I'm pretty active on other forums but hadn't quite made it to this one until now. With all the buzz about new cameras, accessories, and lenses, I think many of us get distracted and forget why we bought cameras in the first place. That being said, I'd love to see a thread disc...

Re: Weddings

What really upsets me is when a competitor will undercut the price just to get the job, and then makes up the difference on the Bride and Groom, by using inferior labs, album company's, and staff. I recently came up against someone who undercut my 2nd photographer (B&W Photojournalist) by 80% an...

Re: Weddings

<...> $75-$100K.....so who is going to argue about spending 8-10K on a high end "quality" photographer? Foolish people, thats who<...> Who's the fool here? You're treating probably 99% of this forum as fools! If you have nothing than disgust and disdain for those not being able to pay 100...

Re: Weddings

This is turning into a very interesting thread......i have worked my way up professionally for over 27 years from a studio "gofer" to a 1st assistant and finally photographer. I have 3 words for how i can justify why i charge $35 for a 8x10 print. "Knowledge, creativity, and experienc...

Re: Interview with Mr. Katsumoto, General Director of Sony Alpha

As for the A900, it has been widely accepted mostly by landscape photographers. The 24MP sensor and the CZ and G lenses make for a very appealing product for landscape photographers. On the other hand it probably isn’t nearly as appealing for sports photographers. So it’s not perfect, but it is a v...

Re: Post your uncropped images!

Nice pix, especially the aisle/light/bride/groom - but the car with graffiti is cropped, surely? Also, we have a rule (see page top) to limit images to only three per post. This is done to help viewing/loading times, and also to keep the physical length of posts tidy. David Hi David, sorry for the ...

Re: Hello from New York!

Welcome David! Looks a very spacious (tall) reception and gallery. Hope you get on well with the Alpha system. I have on my desk Bill McIntosh's history as a Minolta (MD) sponsored professional. Maybe Sony can make things more like they were back then! David Thank you for the warm welcome David.......

Re: SONY A900 on loan to me from the SONY Artisan progrm

Thanks for the warm greetings! I have no "official" sponsorship with Sony, although they were kind enough to allow me a free trial period before i go out and spend over $12k in a new full frame sony kit with lenses, 2- body's, and strobes.....try before you buy is a good concept! So far im...

SONY A900 on loan to me from the SONY Artisan program

Hi all, i am a new user on the this forum, and just got my hands on a A900 kit with the CZ 16-35 and CZ 24-70 and a HVL-58 strobe. I just used it to photograph the birth of my daughter on Friday, and i was blown away in every respect. Build quality, ease of use, features etc. I am hanging up my Niko...
