Re: Tiny sensor revenge gallery thread!
Have semi retired the Samsung and now using an HTC HD2, 5MP camera with touch screen controls, its not too bad. Heres a quick snap taken when some tugs were bringing a bulker into the local docks. Detail isnt too bad, colours are ok too. http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r129/PBRstreetgang_2006/201...

Re: Tiny sensor revenge gallery thread!
Another off my Samsung mobile phone, its a U900 not 800 as i originally stated. Took the WB off auto and tried the daylight setting, macro focusing is a little awkward too as you dont get much of a say on what it focuses on! Still impressed with image quality. Would recommend this phone to anyone ev...

A few off my Samsung U800 mobile phone. 5MP, best camera on a mobile i have used by a large margin. File sizes over 2MB. Macro mode is very good. http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r129/PBRstreetgang_2006/Random%20stuff/Photo0271280x960.jpg http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r129/PBRstreetgang_2006/...

Re: One ugly bird!!
Cheers guys, all comments good or bad are appreciated. I will have to start focusing on the eyes. Was trying some different modes on the camera, the turkey shot was on the vivid setting hence the over saturation, i should have tried some other options but the bloody thing would not stay still lol

One ugly bird!!
Continue to be impressed with my A200 and my new Tamron 70-300mm LD Di lens. A few from this week, turkey at local "urban farm" and a gull at the docks when i was watching the ships go by. http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r129/PBRstreetgang_2006/Local/DSC03919.jpg http://i143.photobucket...

Re: Flowers 2010
Tried out my new Tamron 70-300mm Di LD macro. This was at max zoom and handheld in local park. Not too sure on the flowers? crocus? The lens cost me less than £100 delivered and upto now i have been impressed. http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r129/PBRstreetgang_2006/Random%20stuff/DSC02514_edited-...

Noel Chavasse VC memorial, Liverpool
My A200 has been in use almost daily for the last 2 weeks, now have a battery grip and a Tamron 70-300 on its way :D Took a break from my usual River Mersey/Liverpool shipping and have visited some of my more local landmarks like Liverpool Cathederal (an impressive place). Finally got round to seein...

Re: Maritime Heritagr
Heres the MV Bauhinia passing the pierhead at Liverpool on the River Mersey. You can just see the bow of the Royal Navy carrier HMS Illustrious on the liner berth. The tanker was the first VLCC (very large crude carrier) to visit the Mersey for many years, several more were to come last year. VLCC`s...

Re: A little advice sought!
Thanks again guys, tried out all that was suggested above over the weekend, the initial images were probs so bad as i had not setup the camera to suite the conditions more than anything else. My dissapointment has now lessened somewhat  Heres a few random images, Used "standard" crea...

Re: Maritime Heritagr
Nice 1, a maritime themed thread :) The Skandi Inspector is a wellhead maintenance vessel, also used for specialised research. The structure above the bridge is a helicopter landing pad! Her and vessels like her are really multipurpose ships, often contracted for specific duties, more often connecte...

Re: A little advice sought!
Thanks David. Will try what you have suggested over the weekend. I was expecting a little more "wow" from the images if i am honest but not miracles given i have had the sony less than a week. I had a nikon D70 last year and had the same situation in comparing shots of my Fuji`s. I have ta...

A little advice sought!
Hi all, there were a few small coasters in the docks local to me so i went down to take some pics, took my new A200 and my Fuji S6500. I took some shots of one vessel with both cameras but was not very impressed when i got home and put the images on my pc. The fuji images just looked better? sharper...

Re: Some images from my "neck of the woods"
Cheers guys :o Shot 3 has been a little HDR`d, the usual conditions round here are what i call "the mersey murk" and sometimes you need all the boost you can get for colour and contrast. My new A200 is running alongside my Fuji S6500fd bridge camera, i dont chase megapixels but like the ta...
