Re: AF point affects metering?

It's been said that the AF point selected affects metering. I did some test pictures where I don't see it. I can't tell what camera you are using? Can make quite a difference ofcourse. Fact is, in your second image, the whole glass window is in focus. My guess is: exposure will adjust to (all) area...

Sony A6000

I am looking forward to the rumored A6000 anouncement. What do *you* think? Would you buy it, if it turns out to be as good as they say?
For me, only touchscreen is missing from Nex 6 (I am used to my Nex 5n), so I really want A6000 to include touchscreen.

Re: Speed-priority continuous AF for Nex-6

• If the Phase Detection AF does not work, the camera does not continue to adjust the focus even if you set [Autofocus Mode] to [Continuous AF]. That must be the problem. Could be any focus error that happens to all PDAF camera's. Not enough light, unsuitable subject for PDAF, subject outside PDAF ...

No, because Nex 6 DOES have phase detect on sensor.

Re: Sony E PZ 18-105G with a7 or a7R NON-crop mode?

As a rule I dislike 'anything' by wire I find it strange that a lens that is obviously optimized for video is not elegant at it. The lens is fine and it's great for video. These guys are noobs. What do you mean accidently hitting controls? Pay attention to what you're doing. Turn the camera off whe...

Re: Sony E PZ 18-105G with a7 or a7R NON-crop mode?

That lens is only for sale for one month (mid december 2013). So I doubt wether one should expect people to have thoroughly tested one. These days answers to all questions seem freely available on Google and the likes, however there has to be one photographer that buys this stuff and reports on it, ...

Re: Going backwards - A580

Try using an less cheap-ass NEX. The difference will be huge. And don't expect it to be an Alpha 900. It is not about you, it is about the resulting images. That's an absolutely awesome idea! We would love to see a bunch of your images! Ha ha good one H, images from the peanut gallery, that'll be a...

Re: Going backwards - A580

I have no idea where you are going with your comment Winkler, but it sounds like an accusation. Could you please explain why you think that is warranted as I don't think I deserve it. I bought the Nex 3 when there was no better Nex, only the 5. I was pleased with the image quality of the Nex, but t...

Re: Going backwards - A580

I agree with Greg. I have used my MD 50 1.7 on a Nex 3 with a glassless adapter which was a wonderful combination. Really loved using the MD glass, but didn't like the Nex. I eventually sold both as I wasn't able to convert the 50 for A-mount with a glassless adapter. Mark Try using an less cheap-a...

Re: Focus on imaging 2013 UK show - No show for Sony

I can't agree honestly because if all makers took that view then we would not have any shows at all on a global level. Well, as was to be expected, you are not getting the point, stuck in your own *&!?#. It's not about attending every single show, it is about attending the shows that matter. So...

Re: Help me re-build my A mount system

That's one reason I prefer prime wide-angle lenses but of course they don't make them for APS-C sensors. Are you kidding? Are you only considering Sony a-mount lenses? What about Samyang 14mm? What about Sigma 19mm for NEX? What about Sony 20mm f/2,8 a-mount lens? What about Sony 16mm f/2,8 a-mount...

Re: Focus on imaging 2013 UK show - No show for Sony

Some sad news! http://www.dpreview.com/news/2013/05/31/organisers-bring-uk-focus-on-imaging-photographic-trade-show-to-a-close The show is no more. Sadly this seems the trend nowadays everything is shutting down from high street shops to trade shows. One wonders where we'll be in 20 years time with...
