Many of them have huge light-making rigs on them. They go out at night to attract and catch squid (calamari), I think.Greg Beetham wrote:Wow there sure are some fishing boats there, they must all be back at the same time. I wonder what they mainly catch.

Turn it off on any steady tripod. Leave SSS on if the wind is vibrating the pod, or you are having to steady it - etc. If the camera is rock solid, SSS will harm sharpness and can do so at any shutter speed. David David, One of my few peeves with the A900 is the inability to have the SSS turned off...
