A700 with grip in a holster case

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good holster case for the A700 with grip. The Sony case will not fit the camera with the grip. :( Any suggestions on a grip case would be very helpful.

Thanks,
Dale

Re: DxO Optic Pro latest update

David, It will doing work with your CZ zoom and the A350. I have not pulled any old images to try some of the A100 or a700 images. I just did a quick few images with the a350. I first purchased the program to correct the 11-18mm lens. I was not happen with the many lens. It needed much correction. D...

Re: Aftermarket Vertical Grip for Alpha A200

I own a grip for the A2200, A300, and A350 made by Travor. It has the same buttons as the Sony grip. I paid $73 USD for it on ebay. It was shipped from Hong Kong. It works very well. It uses the internal connections like the Sony grip. The fake leather is not a perfect match to the Sony grip on the ...

DxO Optic Pro latest update

I just ran my first batch of images with their latest update 5.3. It is an improvement for low light work. I had limited my a350 to 100-400 iso. I can now use 800 iso much more. 1600 iso is even useable for me, but only on smaller size prints 8x10. The 3200 iso depending on the subject can also be u...

Re: Sony 16-80mm - how much slop, twitch, clunk?

I have own both the 85 and this zoom for over a year and a half. My only troubles is the filter must be the slim version on the zoom. The Sony Zeiss lenses have performed very well like they did when I used Rollei or Hassy cameras.

Re: Contemplations....

I always carry a backup camera in the bag. My camera bag has my A700. I use the A350. The results between 100 and 800 iso are wonderful. I use the a700 for times when I need over 800 iso or rapid frames per second. The extra detail, wider dynamic range and IQ from the A350 wins out over the better a...

Re: Sony 16-80mm - how much slop, twitch, clunk?

My copy of the lens is from the first month release to the the USA market. It has been working fine. I used it first on the A100. It is now on the A350. I strongly recommend the lens. If you use the A350, it needs the CZ or G glass to be worth using. The difference on the A700 or A100 is not as grea...

hood will not fit

I have black 72mm petal lens hood. The sunshade is not as ideal as the one with the lens, but works.

more from Zeiss

After some addition email exchanges, I got this information from Zeiss about the lens: We think that the Vario-Sonnar T* 3,5-4,5/16-80 ZA is a very good compromise regarding all of these factors, and it offers the best image quality compared to similar lenses on the market. It is the best choice for...

mine did not have those problems

My 16-80 did not have any of those problems. I think the glass is first class, but they seem to have cut to much in quality of the rest of the lens. My complaint to Zeiss about the lens got a reply that reads in part: Please keep in mind that this lens was designed to reach compact design, little we...

MC Flecktogon 2.8/20 Carl Zeiss Jena DDR on my A100

I have mounted my MC Flecktogon 2.8/20 Carl Zeiss Jena DDR on the A100. The sensor design did not like this lens nor any of my 35mm and mf CZJ mc lenses. The flare is high and image was not sharp. I do not know sensor designs. I do know the results were not close to using those lenses on Reala film....

I read that you have that problem in your review. In fact I was surprised to read about it. So I double checked my lens and it does not have that problem at 16mm.

I am not sure why the difference between lenses.

It is troubling. Other wise I really like this lens.

Zeiss Softar

Hi

Is there a digital version of the softar filters for Photoshop? The soft focus filter and actions which I have tried lose detail and the feeling of softness.

My Zeiss 85mm has to much bite for most women. So I am checking on the digital option before spending on a 72mm filter.

Thank you.

Setting work from with DxO Optics Pro Elite and Noise Ninja

Hi I have tried out Optics Pro with Film Pack and like it for most images processing from a Raw. I do not like its processing of noise and plan to use Noise Ninja for noise processing. Any one here use these? I am wanting to set them up to bulk process shoots. And looking for suggestions on smooth w...
