Re: Bloomy over Gloomy-Isolation Days' Flowers

. Hi,Sury; The fall off of light in the last photo is great and the flowers look great in the other images. Hi, JBTaylor; The photos are lovely. The analogy of creating and playing music in the context of photography is very true: In photography, there's silence, there's whisper, there's loud presen...

Re: My take on CZ135f1.8 and Flowers

.

I agree with JBTaylor and think that the last photo with vertical composition is the best for including a leaf germination on the stem at lower side: more inclusiveness relevant to the plant's structure. :)

Thanks for sharing, Sury.

Re: Bloomy over Gloomy-Isolation Days' Flowers

. Hi, JBTaylor; :) Your daisies are just as pure as your lilies! :) I loved the daisy shots for their bird's eye captures where we see a whole universe. Fibonacci sequence is so clear and mesmerizing right there at the centre. These are so cleanly thought images… I like the experimental last one. It...

Re: My take on CZ135f1.8 and Flowers

. Hi, Sury; :D These shots are most elegantly done, in my opinion! :) Well done. The subjects are nicely composed, in relation to their physiological structure. The subjects' backgrounds are free from clutter, and their out-of-focus elements are nothing but complimentary and pleasant to follow with ...

Re: My take on CZ135f1.8 and Flowers

. Sury, the first is just brilliant and within the guidelines of JT. :) The foreground petals are sharper and bokeh happens gradually. I like the colour combination of the lily. I don't think cropping the blob would work for this image but decentering the flower to the left while shooting would have...

Re: Bloomy over Gloomy-Isolation Days' Flowers

I tend to shoot narrow and that costs me. It's a choice that favors bokeh over detail. I am seeking therapy. Took the Minolta 100 2.8 Macro out for a test late this afternoon. …. Hi, JBTaylor; They are brilliant! :) The abundance of details may be due to the f-stop 2.8. The textures are amazing thr...

Hi, JT; I think this shot of yours include some nice details but you are not close enough, maybe. :) The farthest red petal has some neat texture even though it's not fully in focus. The foliage...

. Every beautiful moment comes to an end until the next and flowers set a good example…. :) A nod to JBTaylor's and Sury's latest photos from the Yellow Asian Lily in vertical and landscape. :D Yildiz The last few days ... Yellow Asian Lily-last few days-1.jpg Yellow Asian Lily-last few days 2.jpg

Re: My take on CZ135f1.8 and Flowers

.

Hi, Suy; :)

Sury, I love the composition and overall shot of the orchid and the lily in the second shot. The third has some distractive plant parts that steal from the central part of the lily, namely the stamens.

Thanks for sharing.

Re: Bloomy over Gloomy-Isolation Days' Flowers

. Thanks for the kind words, JBTaylor. :) You take good photos and we only tell the truth… Sury, I like the last one better too. The other two have too many distractions in the shape of out-of-focus plant parts, in my opinion. You can definitely use the 135 mm's focusing qualities much, much better ...

Re: Bloomy over Gloomy-Isolation Days' Flowers

. Hi, JBTaylor; :) Looks really lovely. I see what you mean. I like both all the same. You are an artist. The second is a wonderful composition of a very prolific lily cluster. There's something neat about pearly white lilies against dark and lush green foliage. And the little winged bonus guys in t...

Re: Bloomy over Gloomy-Isolation Days' Flowers

. Thank you, Sury and JBTaylor. :) Sury, I think the subject is a good incentive to create the perspective; the subject shows the way to be photographed, almost. I just follow the guidelines the subject offers or displays. JBTaylor, this pearl white variety of lilies are exceptionally delicate and p...

. Thank you, JBTaylor. :) Glad a master thinks so… Thank you, Sury; :) Your yellow lily, red rose and purple tulip are lovely. The petal layers of the rose and the details of the tulip are distinctive. That's what we do best in this forum: make sure the spouses of our members are always much impress...

Re: Bloomy over Gloomy-Isolation Days' Flowers

. Thank you and you are right, Sury. :) I was feeling the conundrum... Your California flowers are bountiful with bright colours. :) Vivid purples, pinks and oranges are catching the eye immediately. Thanks for sharing, Yildiz ps. :) Only because you mentioned in your post, the purple one is Fairyta...
