Dimage 7Hi service manual

When Minolta/Sony repaired the faulty sensor on my Dimage 7Hi it came back with what looks like dust on the sensor. I didn't notice immediately, and should have sent it straight back as soon as I did, however I didn't bother and I am now thinking that this otherwise perfectly good bit of kit might s...

Re: Photos with evidence of the photographer

Blimey David, what long legs you have got :D

It seemed to me that every photo I took when I first had my fisheye, especially upright format, had my feet on! I've just had a look through some old shots but cannot find any now. I have either deleted them or cropped them off.

Re: Best budget lens at 300mm or more?

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. I haven't had a chance to do any further tests, and I have got to trek half way across the country for a wedding this weekend, so probably wont get the the chance until next week now, but will do so as soon as I can :( .

Re: Best budget lens at 300mm or more?

Thanks for the comments - I have wondered about technique, and have a horrible tendency to work at the limitations of the equipment - lenses wide open, lower shutter speeds than I should, higher ISO etc, and the reduced apertures at the long end of lenses, coupled with the A100's poor high ISO (I tr...

Best budget lens at 300mm or more?

Hi there, I have a couple of budget lenses that go up to 300mm, but I am not too happy with either of them. I have the Sigma 70-300 APO and Minolta 100-300xi. Once they get beyond 220ish they seem to loose sharpness. Much as I would love the Sony 70-400G I cannot really afford/justify either of the ...

Re: POLL: Why do you buy camera gear?

I do both. I have a couple cameras that will probably never take another photo, or at least, only for novelty. I have cameras that are purely for taking photos. I have answered 1 - to take photos, because that is what it boils down to, and is the main treason I have bought cameras, but most of my ca...

Re: Changing 72 DPI to 300 DPI?

[quote="Vidgamer"]Although, I'm not sure why Sony bothers to use 72 either. Perhaps we should consider them both in error. [quote] I could be completely wrong here, as I have never bothered to check, but I read somewhere that the camera does not actually populate the DPI field in the...

Re: Changing 72 DPI to 300 DPI?

The program that I am designing the yearbook on is an internet based program provided by the yearbook company (by Jostons the biggest yearbook, book photo provider in North America. Sears, Walmart, JCPenny all use this same program.) The program is simple and easy to use I am teaching it to Middle ...

Re: Changing 72 DPI to 300 DPI?

I should be more specific "picture resolution" not exactly DPI because that could mean also the size of the picture! Sorry! Set the A700 to say 300 res instead of 72 res? Any Ideas or......... a better procedure than opening up every file and resaving it? Motor You cannot change this in c...
