Re: problem with Sony A700 not rotating photos on immediate play

Immediately after shooting with RAW, the picture you view is in the way you took it, i.e. if vertical, then it remains so till the time set for picture viewing (3s, 5s etc), but in that position whenever you magnify the image you will have in the upright position instantly (of course if set to autom...

Re: A700 f2,8-af sensor?

Allow me to add this too: While focusing on a subject with SAL16105 the focusing differed on 16mm and 105mm positions (the subject was sharp at the long end while soft at the wide one). The AF was precise while on 105, but not on 16 (may I say that 16-105 is something in between a zoom and variofoca...

Re: A700 f2,8-af sensor?

Haven't tried on a lens with a greater opening than 2.8, but will gladly do if anyone could send me such a lens    OK, let's get serious. Sony has 2 such lenses yet (the 35/1.4 and 50/1.4) Carl Zeiss has 2 also (85/1.4 and 135/1.8 yet) and as for Konica-Minolta there are around 15 su...

Would you please specify which kit lens? Is it the 18-70?

Re: Sony 16-105 kit lens

I must confess that the 16-105 at a f-stop greater than 5.6 (value wise, not opening) results in a quite sharp picture. Haven't tried at maximum yet, but whenever I do will inform. The only weak point I have found so far is the looseness of the front ring (the one just behind the hood collar. It has...

Re: A100 and A350 comparison shots

Anyway, how about uploading those comparison shots again.
Also, I would love to see someone uploading pictures of same item with same lens from same spot with ALL Sony DSLRs (of course I do understand the obstacles)

My point exactly. I made a lot of pictures while on holidays in Lebanon. Photos were decent. And all shot with SAL1870.

Re: buying new dslr, sony (a200k) help with decision please

Carl Zeiss lenses are brilliant, yes, but whoever said that Sony/Minolta lenses ruin pictures has probably said it on April 1st. I had the kit lens 18-70, which compared to similar kit lenses of other manufacturers was way better. I have now another kit lens (if we might call it so) the 16-105 which...

Re: save vivid colors as permanent setting

You are probably using the "AUTO" setting which by default will return to factory setting each time you switch off the camera. Using RAW is a right choice IMHO, also do use either P, A, S or M. Personally I almost use A setting (75-80%) and the rest in the M setting. I don't remember using...

May I ask what was the problem initially to have the lens rebuilt and above that to replace mechanical parts?

Re: Which is best ARW/RAW converter for Alpha 100?

I mostly use CS3, sometimes even rarely Sony's IDC (Image Data Converter). I have no complaints from CS3, but will be glad to know which performs best.
