Re: Dentist still uses KM A200

Yes, we get carried away by all the new stuff being released at increasing speed. For my main use - Alamy - My old A700 would still do the job as would my A350/550 and 580 as well as NEX-5 (all sold). Determined now to cease buying more cameras as my RX100M3 and A6000 satisfies all my requirements i...

Re: trade in the 57 for an A6000

I bought an A6000 in the autumn utilizing the Sony £50 cash back offer. I have the 16-50 pancake used on my NEX-6. I was wondering how this lens would perform on a 24Mp sensor, but I have been pleased with the results. I have also been surprised at how well my 10-18 and 55-210 mm E zooms have perfor...

Re: Will there really be an A99ii

Just as I announced above that there will not be a successor to A58, SAR announces as SR4 http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sr4-sony-to-announce-a-new-a68-to-be-unveiled-in-early-november-already/ Not sure why Sony would go for a A65 replacement. As I understood it this model did not do too well. Havin...

Re: Will there really be an A99ii

Would be a retrograde step. Sony have all the technology they could swap from e-mount cameras to A-mount and vice versa. The issue with A-mount is that the money is in FE-mount just now and whatever A-mount Sony pops up with will have little chance against CAN/NIK in terms of generating billions of ...

Re: A6000 review on DPR

I have held a long lasting urge to acquire this A6000, but decided to wait until "the price is right". After all, there was nothing wrong with my NEX-6 or indeed my NEX-5N. After replacing my RX100 with the wonderful MK3 I thought this was it, but the Sony came up with their £50 "cash...

Re: Will there really be an A99ii

Most of the images I take are for Alamy, where I now have just short of 8,000 for sale. All the Sony cameras I have produce excellent quality images and even under/over exposed images can often be recovered in Adobe Photoshop Cloud without unwanted noise. I refer to 16Mp in NEX-5n & NEX-6 as wel...

Re: Will there really be an A99ii

classiccameras » Tue Jul 21, 2015 9:25 am They need to dump the A58 and bring out a A57 11 for that section of the market, may be an A37 11 just to keep the body smaller I would applause such a move (not to A37). My A58 takes super pictures, but the buffer is puny and the rear screen should be 3 in...

Re: DeHaze filter in LR and PS Cloud

Bakubo Did you do additional PP? I notice that the colors, especially the sky color, have changed quite a lot. Simple answer - yes and probably too much for a "real" conversion. The point was simply - try the filter if you have it on hazy images. It works wonders. Any other PP is independe...

DeHaze filter in LR and PS Cloud

Not sure when this filter was added to Adobe PS Cloud RAW and Lightroom Cloud in the Effects area. I pulled out some images from 2010 I struggled with at the time because of - Haze. I attach a before and after picture with the haze removed. Amazing. If you don't know about it and have a version with...

Re: RX100 replacement options

Like artHarris I finally resolved to end my wait. Frankly I never even looked seriously at alternatives to the RX100M3. Like Artington I found the M4 price too steep and did not need the improvements over M3. I finally purchased a new M3 from Great Western Cameras using the Sony £50 cash back. Needl...

Re: A 58 v A57

Never had an A57. Stuck with my A580 until I purchased an A58 for video because of AF during recording. (Not offered on A580). Problem was that the A58 could only video on lowest F stop (i.o. fully open). Another daft Sony move (one of too many). Then used that A58 for stills with my Tamron 18-270. ...

Re: Will there really be an A99ii

Re 50Mp, it probably made sense for Canon to release a pro camera with 50Mp as some professionals would probably purchase it to replace medium format on outside shoots for convenience. For Sony, a single FF A-mount camera in the line at 50Mp seems odd. It is not even as if the A99 has much life left...

Re: LR5 v. LR4 - anyone tried the new version?

One thing I just cant get to grips with in PS is noise reduction. Mikeriach I gave up on noise reduction in PS a long time ago. I use the luminance slider in either Camera Raw or Lightroom to remove luminance noise and recover any loss of sharpness with the sharpness slider also in Camera Raw or Li...
