Some test: NEX 7 + turbo VS A99 : Introduction

Well, processing the picture, I found that the 50mm 1.2 MD lens that I use are not really the same :-(. One rokkor-X and other MD. So probably David Will be able to help me to decide wish one should be the best. Man ... this take time to collect all the data and put that on pbase ... :-(. If I got t...

Re: The Best Wide angle zoom lens for Sony NEX 7 : 10-17mm F

I have the Sony 10-18mm zoom and I am quite impressed. Would like to see a comparison between the Sony and InTheSky's set-up. Looks large and heavy compared with the nifty Sony. I tested the adapter in a good store in Montreal before my holiday, and I almost bought it. In fact I was there to purcha...

Re: The Best Wide angle zoom lens for Sony NEX 7 : 10-17mm F

Hi Frank, I saw a couple of those adapters on eBay, on different mounts (I am more interested on a Minolta MD-MC or A-mount adapter) but, since there is a piece of glass on it, I'm curious about how it affect the image quality. The seller only warns about flare (sun into the lens). Did you already ...

The Best Wide angle zoom lens for Sony NEX 7 : 10-17mm F2.0

Searching to be most of the time on my NEX system, I needed to find a way to get the best experience as possible for Wide angle shot with possibility of low light photography. So this is so fare the best setup I tested. I think I will adapt it for my 2 weeks holiday starting tomorrow. I will post so...

F1 racing in Montreal yesterday ( qualification period )

Before to sell my old precious Minolta 400mm HS 4.5, I wanted to play a bit again in situation where it is justify to use this lens. As usual handled and using the power of moving sensor :-) It was a rainy day (and cold ... ), so I had to pump up the contrast. Some panning at very long distance :-)....

Re: SLT light show

At first ... LED has always be for me problem with Digital Sensor, when I'm a small place where music band are playing and there is cheap LED spot, I know most of my picture will be garbage ... or only usable in B&W. Problem with led is that they are producing frequency and create strange effect...

Re: An adventure in Full-Frame

The A99 is a constant discovery ... and now I don't think I will be able to return on other kind of technology with everything I found to much useful with it. The power of all the button and the option can cover any situation. My Sony NEX 7 is sleeping at home on the shelf since the arrival of the A...

Re: After long thinking ... I'm going with a A99

The A99 is not a replacement of the A900, it is a complete new camera to my feeling so far. You have to learn how to use it, and it is not taking a week , it take more time than 3 weeks.... Too much possibility to decide where to put all the control and option. This is a Video monster, but ... lacki...

Re: After long thinking ... I'm going with a A99

So far so good, I received it yesterday night, and got only a few minutes to play with. It is not a natural switch from the A900, the camera is almost a complete new system to learn how to use (but in a good way). This morning just passing through the option menu I found very fantastic what you can ...

After long thinking ... I'm going with a A99

Well ... , after a long try of searching to replace my A900 and deciding what is the best for me for shooting and video and at the end the cost of all that ... I decide to go with a Demo A99 bargain from a store. I was able to get D600 for less than 2000 $ including the taxes for refurbished model, ...

Re: MetaBones Speed Booster Adaptor

Older Alpha lenses need the electronic magnet system to open and close the aperture. This mechanism is not easy to build. But probably a basic one with a ring to open and close the aperture would be great. I was thinking about buying an another Canon EF adapter and removing the lens and trying to pu...

Re: MetaBones Speed Booster Adaptor

All Wide open with the 58mm 1.2 MD first version, so you can see by the exposure time there was very not a lot of light Fantastic pictures InTheSky but you have me confused to put it mildly. I understand you were praising your new Metabones adapter but showing pictures taken with a Minolta 58mm MD....

Re: MetaBones Speed Booster Adaptor

Yesterday night, I have covered three rock bands in a usually very low light place, and with the 58mm 1.2 at ~F1.0 ... I can tell you that I was never in search for more light ! :-) Also with the 100mm 2.0 almost 1.4 it was perfect. I dream the I can had this adapter for Minolta mount, only for the ...
