Re: Friendly Neighborhood Caribou - Fogo Island

Glad you are feeling well enoughto pick up the camera, nice shots of the young Caribou - are the parents nearby, or do these animals fend for themselves for a young age?

Best wishes

High Force

I had a drive down to High Force yesterday as I felt the need to get out in the fresh air, it was still fairly cold but worth the trip. This is the area at the base of the falls, note the icicles at the sides, this image is stitched from 6 seperate shots. http://www.pbase.com/murph4306/image/1319998...

Off camera flash

A new area for me, trying to learn some off camera flash techniques. Here are a couple of my youngest daughter (much better to photograph than my ugly mug). Details Sony A700 on manual, Sony HVL 42 at 1/4 power fired through a translucent umbrella, with Minolta 3600D used to light background, both t...

Re: Weather Today 2011-In Your Vicinity

A happy new year to all. Greg I hope your part of Queensland is still above water. Newcastle upon Tyne (today Jan 2nd) cloudy, no wind and 3 degC. I had hoped for a sunrise but it never came. This is an HDR image of the Quayside in Newcastle in pre-dawn light. http://www.pbase.com/murph4306/image/13...

Re: Boxing day HDR sunrise

Thank you for the kind comments guys. Even though I have photographed it many time, I still love the local coastline, the light changes constantly and you never know what you are going to get. I am trying to find some new angles, as you can imagine the local camera club scene has a huge number of th...

Boxing day HDR sunrise

I hope everyone had a good christmas, we still have a lot of snow and ice, but this can also make for lovely clear days. These were taken this morning (boxing day) with A700 and KM 17-35mm lens. They are all 3 image HDR images (partially because I left my ND grads in the other camera bag, and I trie...

Seasons greetings

Wishing all of the members here all the best for the coming festive season. Taken this morning just before we had another load of snow. I haven't been out in it much due to work and family, but hope to take some pictures over the holidays. http://www.pbase.com/murph4306/image/131253199/original.jpg ...

Re: Concert Photography

Hi David,

Liked the slide shows, looks like an atmospheric club, with really difficult lighting condtions.

I really like the first two monochrome pictures you posted, they have a documentary feel to them.

Best wishes and good luck to the bands

Re: What I shot this weekend...

Thanks for the comments, the Predator costume was really good - the guy was getting stopped by loads of Goths who wanted a picture with him. I definitely think a re-visit next year is on the cards. This weekend I was working all day on Saturday, but today we had a stroll in Jesmond Dene near Newcast...
