Re: Support Complaints -> How about point of sale?
Sadly David ... there really are no third party support places for SONY, per se. If you do go to one of the two "Photography" pro shops in the area, even though they may have a couple high-end lenses, they have zero.point.none assistance for the SONY line. In other words, you are really on...

Support Complaints -> How about point of sale?
Most support complaints come from issues dealing with the repair of lenses or camera bodies. You usually don't consider asking for equipment support from a camera retail store as a big deal, except when that store just happens to be the manufacturer's. So ... my major complaint that I have been liv...

Hey Dave,
You think they will ever go for that "INFO" button idea? LOL
Signed,
Mr. "I told ya so" ... himself.

SONY Lens prices escalate
Well, if you didn't get your glass back in December 2008, during the limited discounts ... it is going the wrong way, now. On average, nearly everything is now up $20-$100 than March 31st, 2009, as the dollar declines in value. Definitely "INFLATION", because the product certainly did not ...

Re: The "INFO" key or "INFO" Menu selection
If you folks (guys and gals) might have missed it, SONY Style has a forum up and going ... and on it, I have placed the proposal for the "INFO" option for the MENU button. It seems to be a pretty active discussion and I am hoping to get some support from everyone (yes, one and all ... I ne...

Re: Sony Survey
Hey, I've been dying to get SONY's ear on some ideas, like: 1) A full-fledged INFO button/menu (complete digital manual and tutorials) 2) interchangeable sensor upgrades, (to reduce costs) that eliminate the need to replace the entire body (just unplug, as a removable module, the LCD, computer chips...

Re: How Bad Is Sony Quality Control ?
I am currently struggling with a rear thumbwheel short (in one spot, the control shorts and sends the aperture settings and IMAGE Playback running). This is the third shot at trying to this repaired. Kind makes the camera unreliable. The repair technician cannot seem to replicate the problem, yet th...

Re: How Bad Is Sony Quality Control ?
Word came in from California, on one of the boards (I forget which), that a new SONY buyer had recently purchased a A300 or A350 from a camera retail chain (name withheld) ... only to find the focus way off and effectively useless. He had purchased several lenses along with the camera. It didn't mat...

Hey Dave ... I know you are reading over your shoulder ... weigh in on this and make a suggestion to SONY, eh? I think they are listening to you. Me, I'm a veg.

Re: The "INFO" key or "INFO" Menu selection
I tell ya, for now, I would appreciate a modification (ver 5) of a menu option until the new model release. I know this is a simple issue, if someone would just put some time into it. A dynamite "inner" manual could be an awesome selling point, on the sales floor. Further on, a mode of tra...

Re: The "INFO" key or "INFO" Menu selection
unfortunately, that sounds like a "dodge" to the issue. I contend that there are plenty of people who quietly do go to their instruction manual and find their solutions ... or at least attempt to. You just do not hear from them. All you usually hear from are the offenders who cannot seem t...

I guess I'm a little surprised this idea is not getting more traction. Then again, if you know it all - DON - why bother, right?

Re: The "INFO" key or "INFO" Menu selection
I think using the Alpha Series like you would the EPSON P-3000 would be very cool. Let's face it ... with the JPG level of 2.7 to 3 inch display ... you could probably develop some usable/useful text level to make it work. Cost wise ... that seems a bit trivial. I suggest we try getting it done, rat...

The "INFO" key or "INFO" Menu selection
Professionally, I have been with IT (Information Technology) for a real good number of years and understand that documentation can be compressed quite nicely in little files within media. One of the aspects of digital cameras that I believe are NOT being used to its fullest is this ability to recall...

Re: Civility
In my experience, I have learned one thing that seems to be Universal, for what it is worth. Your camera is very similar to using your favorite paint brush. What comes out of it is your decision. I doubt very much that people close their eyes when they paint ... and let "Zen" forces delive...
