Re: Metz 58 AF-2
Hi Birma, thanks and happy new year to you and yours, yes you are quite correct with the LED panels making inroads into traditional lighting systems I'd say, the only thing going for camera flash now is probably portability and possibly motion freezing capability although it's difficult to say how c...

Birma I'm not sure which I admire the most the photos or the courage of the photographer but they sure are nice postcards from your neck of the woods.

Re: Unable to access some features of A200?
Hi all I've had an A200 for a few years but it has hardly been used other than the basic settings, I have recently started using it again but have noticed that I'm having trouble getting some of the settings changed... Specifically, I can't change the ISO manually, shoot in burst mode, change the w...

Re: Metz 58 AF-2
Metz filing for insolvency http://www.dpreview.com/articles/6718942318/lighting-equipment-manufacturer-metz-files-for-insolvency might not immediately affect the camera flash side of things perhaps, not that you could affect it any worse I’d say, what with the need for flash units diminished because...

Re: Autumn Mists
I like that one Birma, (it’s a sort of nostalgic reminder for me of one I took from Murray’s hut in the rainforest looking out over the misty ridges in the valley while rain was approaching, a little while ago), I counted (carefully) 11 different tree lines in yours, I think I only got 6 hilltop rid...

That’s a pretty view Birma, the light looks just about the right, nice work.

Re: Intentional Camera Blur
Greg, You can paint with light with the camera in bulb mode (at least 30 sec shutter ) on tripod and paint with light. I have done that couple of years ago and it worked. In fact, I covered my flash light with a facial tissue paper to diffuse the light. Now that I have a intervelometer of sorts, I ...

Re: Intentional Camera Blur
You can also put the camera on a tripod and with a slow shutter using a zoom lens zoom out while the shutter is timing the exposure, you get a sort of radial smudge effect, and you could move side to side with higher magnification with a slow shutter speed as well. Also there is painting with a flas...

How about a few photos with the $5 Yashica 55mm macro (now 110) Henry, that sounds interesting.

Pretty smudges Birma, I was surprised there wasn’t less green than it turned out to be, maybe poppies or bluebells might be worth a try with that technique?

Re: Beercan work out..
What puts me off the KM-AF70-210/4 is that it’s a 5 contact lens. It’s high time the lens was upgraded to 8 contacts, Sony doesn’t have to go berserk and modify it into a $1500 SSM lens at twice the weight like they probably will be inclined to do to justify the huge price difference between a new o...

Re: Oshima in the Seto Inland Sea
Yeah I agree an interesting look at the close involvement that area has with the sea Henry, lots of activity building new ships and fixing old ones. One thing caught my attention in a previous photo, the on or off ramp up in the sky, I’m not totally sure I’d be all that keen to have thousands of ton...
