Fantastic! I've just been showing this to my husband - we thought at first you'd used an objective lens of which we have one - as yet unused! This is for studio work and will be attached to bellows.
These are great images!

Oooh - I don't know....... I go away and you all get contentious ;) Nice to see you're all still getting some great bird shots and giving our wildlife the reverence and appreciation it deserves :) Regarding my shots. I do a lot from my hide. You may call it 'artificial' or even 'manipulated' but bel...

Those are wonderful Robbie. I've never succeeded in getting a swallow shot, yet. The second one is fantastic - looks like there'll be some youngsters soon? Her mind is on the practical side of things (nest material in beak)

Atishoo! From me too, Sury. Great colour, there. Birma - lovely light on that one - reminds me of the 'golden hour'. (I don't often see dawn) It reminds me of some I took last week of furrows but from a very low elevation - http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8088/8467641179_de1a780898_o.jpg and a 'straig...

This is all out of my area of knowledge - but I'm impressed. I've done moon shots and where the part shadow highlights the craters etc but I've never heard of astro stacking software. As mine are taken with a 300mm lens I have to crop in some - the 24.3 px help a bit more now ;) I'm sure there's a g...

Valentine's Day....
..is nearly upon us! The Blackbirds, amongst others, are pairing up and these two youngsters (last year's young) seemed to be in on the act. He kept following her around but as I didn't manage to get a shot of them together (she kept playing hard to get) I did a bit of 'matchmaking' in Photoshop - a...

Re: Birds 2013
A couple from the other day - from a WWWT near us. I don't normally go to places where any birds are clipped but the walking was easy (with plenty of seats) and I've had a bad back recently. Re: Image Manipulation
I enjoyed all of these great pics. Image manipulation has been with photography from its very inception. Google Henry Peach Robinson, Oscar Reijlander or Bill Brandt. By the way even Bill Brandt's early documentary photography was not entirely straight. Did you know that the maid in his famous pict...

Re: Black and White
Nice conversions, bf . The windows/light in the first one look a little hot - an awkward situation by the looks of it. Did you use the in camera B/W or convert in RAW/PS ?
Mine - this was practically monochrome anyway!

[quote="david antony" Caught this Black Capped walking thru the woods couple week back. [/quote] What a cute bird. He/she reminds me of our coaltit and marsh tit. Also of the N American 'Chikadee'. I like the way this image shows how tiny he is - sometimes that is lost in an extreme close ...

Re: Image Manipulation
This discussion is interesting. I always find it more interesting if there's some evidence that it is not just theory but has some basis in practicality. Not just 'armchair photography'. Photography is similar to me (sounds odd but bear with me) the point of capture is the most exciting moment, I've...
