Re: Man, Sony had better come with some KILLER FIRMWARE UPDATE!

Question for you folks,
If the a900 is going away, would you wait and buy one of the last ones before considering the a850?
They may sell at bargain basement prices. I would pay an extra $200.00 for the a900 before buying an a850. Especially if the grips and batteries are interchangeable.

Re: Poll: I think the A850 is

Don, You make your living with a camera and Sony has done very little to attract or keep you as a customer. I am a hobbyist that spends too much money on gear and it appears that they are providing exactly what I was hoping for. I use the a700 for wildlife and high school sports. Thew new FF will fi...

Re: Amazing amount of fine detail captured by the Sony Alpha 900

Welcome Lonnie.
You have a fine camera and lens with plenty of horsepower. This is a good place to learn . So hang in there and get that first pic posted.
Can't wait to see it.

Re: Scotland golf trip

Nice shot of you standing in front of the Valley of Sin. I was there last year and never saw fog or rain. The Old Course @ St. Andrews is everything they say, even when the weather is agreeable. #11 is a world famous par 3 and for good reason. My playing partner was up against it in the bunker. http...

Re: tripods and monopods

Depends on the situation. Hand holding a 300mm 2.8 ,lens is more than I can take when shooting wildlife or sports. The monopod comes in handy.

Re: Sony polls for interest in Video DSLRs

I must agree for the most part. It seems Sony believes that the most effective marketing is to keep your vision a secret. Pretty radical for am image company.

Re: Who runs this forum?

It's a community of mostly polite people that care about photography. I don't recall many attacks until today.
How about posting some images.

Excellent work. These shapes and colors look great against the black background.

Re: Blossomville

The wife's Day Lillies are starting up this week. There are so many buds that it will take weeks for them all to bloom. Here is the first set. This is the a700 tied to the KM 100mm 2.8 Macro. http://www.pbase.com/jstaylor/image/114374943.jpg http://www.pbase.com/jstaylor/image/114374982.jpg http://w...

I like the 1st shot best. The green in the foreground leads nicely to the castle lawn in the background.

Re: A single shot

I like the different light that falls on the instrument as opposed to the statue and it is easy to assume that classical music will be played.
A simple image that says much. That is a good thing.
