Re: How about some macro shots?

Thanks Sury and Birma, yes they are wasps but not dangerous unless you have some kind of reaction, some people do have that problem with insect stings but it’s rather rare I think. Farmers and gardeners like to have them around, apparently they kill grubs that eat plants. http://www.brisbaneinsects....

Re: Flowers 2014

That is some weapon Birma, A99 + 70-400G does a very nice job indeed (135STF too); it would do a good job on birds too one would think if there were any around that you could get in range of. I see one guy on dpr has a ‘magic stump’ out in the bush; he’s cultivated the birdlife (the seedeaters anywa...

Re: How about some macro shots?

These little guys have been on this cycad for quite a while and I water it nearly every day splashing water all over, I think they must be used to me now, they don’t even get agitated by my presence, well not too much. I’d like to know what they eat, all they seem to do is sit around on their nest. ...

Re: Introducing Year of the Alpha – 365 Days of Sony Alpha

I like the shot of the child in the tree, great clarity and dof, climbing is good I think even if slightly risky, it enhances agility coordination and strength and encourages a bit of self-preservation…at some point. It’s a pity the nice conditions you have at the moment don’t extend for a lon...

Re: A7s pricing

[quote="pakodominguez"] so, why did you insist on the rolling shutter issue?[quote] The rolling shutter issue under fluro shouldn’t be as bad as it is they could have used an internal frequency that was different to florescent lights, and they could also have used a CCD instead of a CMOS i...

Re: Dedication

It’s a good one alright but I tend to think if it was so hot it set his jogs on fire his feet would already be burning up as well.

Ps no camera/photo on the Dad-bear day Dusty? That would have made a good happy snap.

Re: A7s pricing

Ok Pako, this A7s super go-pro widget has sort of got me interested from the still taking aspect not the video so much, I’ll leave the video for those who like doing that sort of thing. With lower MP’s the stills potential might be good for the older lenses and I don’t know about you but I don’t nee...

Re: A7s pricing

Wobbly video is wobbly video whoever does it, apparently professionals who do video know which type of camera, CMOS or CCD is best in a given situation and take the appropriate camera. Anyway I didn’t notice any violent panning happening, there was some panning but it didn’t look too violent, I thin...

Re: A7s pricing

In different interviews, Sony's mark Wier already said that "rolling shutter" is as expected from a CMOS sensor. "As expected" means that you can not shoot the way people test for rolling shutter (nobody really shoots that way). For that, get an old 3CCD handycam... Uhh, okay. E...

Re: A7s pricing

Definitely the perfect camera for low light photography and video, 4K included. I was thinking about this camera for my event photography. for small events, I deliver 6MP, so 24 or 36MP is too much. It takes HHDD space and resources when editing. I'm using now the A700 or the A7R with LAEA4 and 16-...

Re: Oly is still having problems

Another good post, I think: http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/53695618 If we add each year to the last, we end up with a cumulative total of over a billion digital cameras shipped. There are two caveats to remember... first, some do break, so there are fewer than a billion in working order, and s...

Re: A7s pricing

I’m wondering how many are actually going to buy it and why, whatsit for? Greg Ps Hmmm £2499 is currently equivalent to $4549AUD  so the UK price is absurd, $2498USD is about $2695AUD at the moment so the B&H price is roughly $100 cheaper than if you bought it in Australia, but the...
