Re: Video tripod not costing the earth. Any suggestions?
TBH, you can't go wrong with the RedSnapper range. If you want an affordable CF option, search for 'HorusBennu' on evilBay. You get what you pay for, and the RS range is excellent. You would pay a lot more for similar quality, so don't let the price fool you. I have this combo. They were giving a di...

Say hello to 'Gizmo' - our new Chihuahua
Say hello to Gizmo, our newest family member. He's a 3 month old 'chico' Chihuahua. We had thought about calling him Yoda for the obvious similarity. A850, Minolta 5600HS (D) and Tamron SP AF 28-75mm F2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (first time I've used the lens). https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphot...

'DEEP' JPEG Setting For A700/A850/A900
Unless already mentioned, try these settings: Got to Menu 1 - Creative Style - Scroll down to '1 Portrait'. 'Portrait' is the default setting for this first of the 'switchable' creative styles -- the ones prefixed with a number. Shift right so that 'Portrait' is highlighted bottom left of the right ...

Re: My Flickr via Fluidr
I loved the variety of the series their Mark. The yellow custom car and Tandelayo are my favorites. The aerial landscape shots look a tad bit oversharpened to me. Have they been post processed? Just curious. I am curious about Fulidr. Thanks for the info. With best regards, Sury Hi Sury, Thanks for...

My Flickr via Fluidr
hot!
Maybe not the best, but a variation of image types on my Flickr site which can be seen through the Fluidr plugin. I think it looks much better and it also gives EXIF data where available.
If you do take time to view, please feel free to leave and FB or C&C.
TIA.

Re: (From DPR) Best high ISO settings for A700
Quoting my myself from two years ago - The high-ISO settings with the Zone trick: 'Creative style' = 'deep' or 'light' or 'neutral' (the 'standard' is overcontrasty) 'Zone' = -1 'Brightness' = -2 (may use -1) 'Sharpness' = +2 (at higher ISO the effect is mild enough for high values) The 'high ISO N...

Base mode 'standard', saturation 0, sharpness +2, brightness -2, zone matching -1; DR+; high ISO 'off''.
Would the above settings be a safe bet on A850 with NR done in pp or have there been suggested changes to these settings that would work better?

A850 + Sigma AF 100-300mm F4 EX DG (IF) APO aircraft shots
Ahoy! I actually have two of these classic Sigma AF 100-300mm F4 EX DG (IF) APO lenses (one is on sale), but first time one was used in anger at Liverpool 'John Lennon' Airport. Not overly interesting subject aircraft (easyJet Airbus 319-111), but more of a trial as a combination of lens and body. T...

Above items sold - new items available
All the above have sold bar a few rear lens caps, but I have a treasure chest of goodies on eBay, PCA and other places. Will sell as a bundle or as separates. Go to eBay and do an advanced search for seller: pirate!!
Thanks.

Would adding the Sony FDA-ME1AM eyepiece to the A580 make a noticeable difference?

Re: Facebook Page: Sony Owners Club
Well, like you, I am not allowed to use the name Sony in a Facebook page, or indeed in any branding including this website. I don't imagine Sony will find your page but if and when they do, they will ask you to take it down, as they don't allow the use of the name. That's also why Dyxum is called D...

Re: Facebook Page: Sony Owners Club
Oh well . . . maybe we can join pages or something and cross promote? It was that when I typed in Sony, I got zilch so thought well why not create a page! The rest as they say, is history.David Kilpatrick wrote:We do have a Photoclubalpha FB page alredy
