The only hiccup there is that the v1/j1 use an aptina sensor, not a sony one.jcoffin wrote:First, given the long-time cooperation between Nikon and Sony on camera sensors, it wouldn't be terribly surprising if Sony already knows exactly how it works.

If you need 5fps, get the a900. If not, get the 850. Simple as that.

Re: Are we headed to a mirrorless future?
I can't predict the future but I'll say "no" and I'll back that up with I'd rather shoot film 100% and scan it then go to a full time EVF system. If Ricoh announced K mount was going to be mirror less only I'd instantly sell everything without a single thought. For the same reason I aband...

Re: Are we headed to a mirrorless future?
Thanks for the quick reply guys.
I've thought quite a bit about what the AF module might look like. One idea I've had is a pdaf sensor located behind a semi-transparent sensor (which doesn't exist right now). Cool concept, eh?

Are we headed to a mirrorless future?
Thinking about this and wondering. The SLT is a great idea, but the little bit of light loss from the mirror isn't the greatest. So the Nikon 1's on the sensor AF go me thinking. Will there be a point, say 10 years from now, where auto-focus and electronic viewfinder technology will advance to the p...

Coal Mine Threatens Bryce Canyon National Park
http://www.landshapephotography.com/img/s8/v11/p129835929-4.jpg The Bureau of Land Management is on the verge of approving a massive 3,500 acre strip coal mine right next to Bryce Canyon National Park that would operate 24 hours a day, 6 days a week, polluting Bryce's air, water and quiet seclusion...

Re: Challenge #43: “Autumn; From Summer To ”- Voting ends No
I hope you'll re-consider your purpose, and you'll be back to the Challenge's Forum soon. Eh. In all honesty when I first join here, I participated in a few of these. Then it was made a 1 person kingdom, and I stopped participating. I had forgotten why. Now I remember, and I'll just ignore this cor...

Fine with me. I guess it's your little kingdom here and you are going to play dictator. Worst thing they ever did here was make this " Aster's photo challenge". If you need that kind of power trip, then have at it. If somebody want to gain the system, all it takes is 1 post to faceb...

Re: Challenge #43: “Autumn; From Summer To ”- Voting ends No
. Well, first of all a tiny comment: "Life as we know on planet Earth has never been fair nor is it now. That statement right there is a cop out 100%. Just because "the world is unfair" doesn't mean that we can't strive to make these as fair as possible. Please tell me how some one c...

Re: Challenge #43: “Autumn; From Summer To ”- Voting ends No
So what's the point of quarter- and semi finals and so on in sports then? And sometimes they compete over several weeks, not on the same day! Talk about unfair ;-) what if one teams best player gets ill.. One suggestion is to vote via PM then, one vote per user - but it will maybe be more work for ...

Re: Challenge #43: “Autumn; From Summer To ”- Voting ends No
Remember, this is a photo challenge , not a photo contest . Then why vote at all????? :? Please don't be confused by my criticism here. I could care less about the "winning" aspect of this. My main concern is fairness to all that enter. Currently the way this is set up, it is not fair. Pe...

Re: Challenge #43: “Autumn; From Summer To ”- Voting ends No
Hi Sebastian , : ) First I’d like to thank you for taking the time to check the facts about the poll features and also for actually being aware of my actual motive for limiting the times the voter can vote; I want the contributors and the voters, who are mostly the same people, to search in their h...

Re: Challenge #43: “Autumn; From Summer To ”- Voting ends No
Each poll only allows 10 question items at time because of the forum software. Right, but my issue is not the number of items in each poll, it's that you only allow 1 vote per poll. The forum software does allow multiple votes per poll, up to the maximum number of choices (10). To truly be fair in ...
