Re: Medium and rare

The LED light Sury can be found on eBay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pro-126-LED-Video-Light-DV-Camcorder-DSLR-Lighting-/200541800383?pt=UK_Photography_StudioEquipment_RL&hash=item2eb13907bf There are many more - they use the Sony camera batteries or AAs, these now say 126 LED or 160 LED as a choice...

Re: SONY VAT-Back Promotion...

I think Scooterman is right. It looks to me as if a lot is included including my target - the A580 body only. Print out the form and scrutinise the Terms and Conditions. In fact Warehouseexpress.com has the A580 at just under £600 so with 17.5% VAT included I am almost at my target of £500.00. I th...

Re: Requests for free use of my photos

Apologies for going OT, but ...the printed magazine may disappear in a year or so OH NO!!! - is it getting too expensive, or is there just not enough interest ? I've given up my sub to AP, and won't bother renewing WDC - Uni gets copies of several of the more 'Pro' periodicals - but I always look fo...

Re: Come and see Sony at Focus on Imaging and enjoy 20% off

The Ray Flash being used for the flower photos was my fault - I fixed up samples for Paul Genge, and apparently they went down reallty well, his advocate photographers grabbed hold of them I was tempted - had a look on the Flaghead stand - but decided for the price I'd rather get one of the Delta u...

Re: Come and see Sony at Focus on Imaging and enjoy 20% off

I looked out for you, David, but didn't see you - little did I know you were busy photographing me [amongst others] - that's me sitting on the bench seat intently leaning forward - although to be honest, that macro-flower presentation wasn't really very interesting [ can't help but think interior de...

Re: Negative problems

A bit OT, but I mainly remember BarFen for their E6 processing kits [we used to get them from Marston & Heards - remember their AP ads ?] - similarly, the best slides I have from the 70s are those processed at home using those kits - still very good colour and no problems with the actual film st...

Re: 24-85mm Minolta

Jacobs had a new, boxed 'old stock' off the shelf complete 24-85mm for £139.99 inc VAT and shipping on eBay I got a lot of my glass from Jacobs when there was a store just down the road from where I was working [incl. my 300/2.8], but didn't realise they sold on eBay - do you mind letting slip thei...

Is it possible to get DOF Preview on lenses with Focus-Hold, or is that one of the menu items that's been removed ?

Thanks

Re: The real A550

David - I suspect the answer is yes, but I'll ask anyway - does the 550 suffer from the same LiveView issue as the A3n0 for studio use ?

Re: Exceptional work all round

Basically it mirrors my Alamy collection, and that is all. Hmmm - maybe I'll just use it to catalogue my Uni work [the ability to provide the "off-line" catalogue to my tutors might be nice] and see how it performs with a much-reduced number of images... ...and keep LR for the full collec...
