Hi,
Recently I moved to Zurich, Switzerland.
I am doing my master's degree in physics here, at ETH Zurich.
Here are couple of my first shots of Zurich.
I thought that there will be more Photoclub Alpha members in Zurich, to meet and talk.

That sounds a great comparison to do.

Re: A noisy world on the A77
David, thanks for so good review.
Did you try to compare the high ISO images (3200, 6400) from A77 down scaled to 16MP with the ones from A55?

Waiting for your opinion and samples.
They are always the most reliable.

They look much better than DPR ones.

I totally agree with You David.
I was asking about it just for scientific interest.

Re: A55 Ghosting effect
David, Did you try to take photos and try to get reflection without the mirror?

Re: A55 Ghosting effect
I think the same Doc,
is the sensor in SLT closer to the lens than in ordinary SLR's so that a bit reflected light gets the sensor, when in SLRs it does not?

Re: A55 Ghosting effect
If it is because of the mirror, than why is it next to the main light. As, in my opinion, if it is from the mirror, the light that reflected from the sensor reflected back to from the mirror, than it need to always be below (or upper) the main one.

Re: A77 hands on at endgadget
That comparison is just to blame A55, only for that. As usual customer, who do not really look at the quality himself and just listens it is bad against canon, really without noticing WHICH Canon. I personally own A55, yes I agree that it is more pleasant to look through OVF, but I do not mind about...

Re: A77 hands on at endgadget
Thank you for more detailed explanation David.
As I understood it's both the lens engineering issue and sensor size

Re: A77 hands on at endgadget
As I mentioned I just copied the update what was written there. However, the sensor size does matter. Below you can find some pictures of diffraction pattern and the equation for diffraction angles dxsin(alpha)=nxlambda, d - is the diameter of the slit or hole, alpha is the angle at which the initia...

Re: A77 hands on at endgadget
Here is an update that I found in the first link given. Update: Commenter Steve Jones pointed out the following oversight: You should not be shooting at f10 on a 24.3MP APS-C camera if you want optimal sharpness as it will be diffraction limited. Indeed that's even true at f8 and diffraction will on...

Re: A77, am I the first to notice?
Greg, in my opinion, if you want to post on the web, I usually downscale the MP count and keep the quality to 100%, so you will not see any artifacts.

Re: Nex Spare Batteries
I usually like to disassemble things and see whats inside. )
I usually try to use only those Chinese batteries and keep the original ones as backups.
I think, let cheap ones die first.
