Re: MetaBones Speed Booster Adaptor
Thanks for the explanation InTheSky. I had forgotten about that conversion to Canon on your 58mm MD lens. The pictures are super. I can see from your comments that you are sold on NEX and Metabones. Not sure why you would wish to dispose of Minolta lenses because Metabones intend to extend coverage...

Re: Siny 16-50 pancake lens on Nex-7?
I've just bought a new one on ebay, forgoing the box and documentation and buying a split from kit one saved over £100-00. I've yet to fully try it out but others seem to be getting reasonable results. As always I shoot RAW and latest version of Lightroom has lens corrections included. Here are som...

Re: MetaBones Speed Booster Adaptor
I am stil trying to figure out one thing and perhaps Frank or someone can shed some light here. The speed adapter increases the aperture by 1 stop. For example an F2 lens becomes F1.4. Now presumably this means that the light transmission doubles. How can this be? Does the adapter concentrate the li...

Re: Siny 16-50 pancake lens on Nex-7?
I decided that the best way was to try it myself so I took a few test shots at various apertures and focal lengths using a copy at the local camera shop on my NEX-7. It is a neat little lens although I found it very hard to acquire an accurate zoom length as it is powered. Also, the lens will not zo...

Sony 16-50 pancake lens on Nex-7?
Has anyone tried the new Sony E16-50 on a Nex 7 yet? I have only seen one review, on ePhotozine, which suggested it is OK given the price, but it was tested on a Nex-6 which, with the smaller sensor, is likely to be more forgiving than the Nex-7.

Re: Good new today ... (probably they listen to David)
Won't the limiting factor here for IQ be the lens in the adapter? I don't imagine the glass or build will be up to Canon L standards. See this http://www.metabones.com/images/metabones/Speed%20Booster%20White%20Paper.pdf Very interesting paper. The design clearly improves IQ by reducing most aberra...

Re: Anyone any experience with UK sony repair? Brand new 5R
The BJP review needs an addendum if I can't make the iPhone pair quickly and without hassle with the camera. Here's the problem: the iPhone will automatically join my main wifi, or any other wifi it can find, the moment the camera wifi drops. Settings don't change this behaviour. The camera drops i...

Re: SAR rumour CZ E-mount 16-80mm zoom
Bring it on. We have now had more than 5 nex body iterations and only a couple of decent lenses with the CZ 24 and, possibly, the 10-18/4. We have been tantalised with tales of a 16-50/2.8 but all that's turned up in this critical walk-around range is a low-end consumer-grade pancake which is, by ac...

Re: Anyone any experience with UK sony repair? Brand new 5R
If they had the EOS Remote app installed on their phone - it is entirely free - they could read photos off the camera, and take control of shooting if the camera was in live view mode. You can't control the camera in optical viewfinder mode, all you can do it view images on it, remotely. David Good...

Re: Anyone any experience with UK sony repair? Brand new 5R
I've been testing the Canon 6D which has an app onboard (in effect) for remote trigger connection to an iPhone. It's great and totally unreliable. Software sucks. david Very surprised to hear this, David, because all other reviewers say its the best wifi implementation out there (except possibly th...
