Re: What is the right ISO for A700?

For flash indoor portraits, I usually use the M mode. Choose a speed around 1/15s & 1/30s. ISO400/800. Aperture depends on the lens and the subject. Using ISO400/800 & slow speed allows to "bring back" some background lights. At ISO100, you usually get a bright person and a dark ba...

Re: Wireless flash question

The other way is to go entirely manual with ebay wireless triggers.
You'll see a lot of info and tutorial on Strobist.

Re: PMA 2009

If Sony releases an affordable FF camera like A800, they need cheaper alternative to ZA 24-70/2.8 and the other F/2.8 zooms. I see a ZA 24-85/4.0 SSM :) A good 24-105/4.0 would be more expensive. And maybe 17-40/4.0 & 70-210/4.0 (updated Beercan) But I heard that Sony is selling more ZA 24-70/2....

Flare resistance?

What are the most flare resistant A-mount lenses, for example for night cityscapes or for sunset shots?

Lightroom CA settings thread

Some of you are sharing some lens CA settings for Lightroom in different threads.
What about centralizing all that information into a "sticky" thread? :D

Re: 5 New cameras in 12 months; 6 new cameras in the next 12 mos

This is the world viewed from an electronics manufacturer: focus on camera bodies. Then you totally forget the immense superiority of the Nikon & Canon lens range (in number and types of lenses, not quality). - Minolta 28/2.0, 35/2.0 & 50/1.7 should be reactivated (maybe add a new coating) t...

Dr. Harout: Impressive to see someone from Yerevan here :D I went there a long time ago for a business trip. No time for sightseeing but I took that shot of Mt Ararat from my hotel with a mju-2 pocket camera. http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=4885750" onclick="window.open(this.href);...

Re: Beercan on Alpha 900

Yes, same question for the 50/1.7 :D It feels like they don't care about the "mid range" market or maybe their factories are already running at max capacity. The a900 partly targets landscape photographers, too bad 28/2.0 & 35/2.0 are also discontinued. Do you thing the guys who design...

Re: Beercan on Alpha 900

Very sharp indeed.

Why didn't Sony relabel this one (maybe also add SSM)?
Did they loose the blueprints? :D
