Re: RX100 replacement options

:D Lx 100 is definite a good alternative. However, inexpensive Nex cameras are my preferred compact one comparing to my RX100 mark 3.

Re: E-mount tele zoom comparisons.

My set of telephoto zooms are perhaps greater including the Nikkor 80-200 f2.8 ed, Canon 70-200 f2.8 is, 100-400 L, Minolta 70-210f4, Sony 70-300f5.6G, 70-400G, Sigma 70-200 OS, FE 70-200f4. Of which Minolta 70-210 turns out to be a surprise of being sharp and small. The native mount FE f4 is not so...

Re: Post about the A7R II up now

Thank you Henry.... Now I am starting to worry about what cameras and lenses to carry. My last trip to Tibet I carried a7r and a6000. It turns out..a6000 is not as fast as dSLR..so the newer A7rII's AF makes me hesitate. My last year's Tibet great turned out to be better by having a 5D3 for street s...

90mm macro

This is another lens I bought after reading its excellent reviews without trying. Well it is good, well built and razor sharp. The issue..I don't like is slow AF speed. Mounted on an A6k, it is not as quick as Sigma 150 on D800. Is there any explanation?

Re: A7R II

Mike...my a7r can shoot barely up to 300 shots..usually 200 and I need to carry at least two extra batteries for a day trip. The size of the grip plus two more batteries essentially make camera size similar to that of D750 or 6D. With either d800 or 5D3, I have zero worry about power drain.

Re: Post about the A7R II up now

David, thank you for your nice review. I ordered mine and is arriving in September, hopefully quicker enough before I leave Turkey for three weeks.

Re: Lens advice for Alpha A580

If you are looking for a standard zoom, the Sigma 18-35 is hard to beat. Otherwise Sony produces 16-50f2.8 and 16-85f3.5-4.5ZA

I bought one when it came out and .....too bad it is not sharp at all. I guess an AF microadjustment is needed.

Re: 24-85mm Minolta

Jacobs had a new, boxed 'old stock' off the shelf complete 24-85mm for £139.99 inc VAT and shipping on eBay, so after much thought, I went for it. I remember my main issue with the 24-85mm was a poor close-up range compared to the 28-105mm, or the later 24-105mm which I welcomed mainly for superior...

Re: Model(s) Fatigue - Any suggestions?

My a900 has 60K+ clicks and A700 has about 30K clicks. They both still work very good. What I am going through is a Model(s) fatigue. I read how the latest models have improved so much in so many different areas and get tempted to upgrade but the sensible side kicks in and tells me not to bother; s...

Re: Using The LA-EA4 for alpha mounts

...Not a very good idea because of slower AF comparing to A99 and poor ergonomics. With the arrival of Canon 6D and Nikon D750, I strongly doubt the necessity for Sony to kill mirror. As A7II has become heavier and larger, is there any need for keeping two lines of mirrolress cameras, the Alpha and ...

Re: 35mm Prime lens options for the A7.

Hi all. I'd like to get a decent 35mm prime lens for my A7 and was wondering what the options are without breaking the bank and going to down the expensive Zeiss road? Its for doing street photography and autofocus functionality isn't really an issue so I guess my options are fairly wide. Has anyon...
