Re: Go fly a kite
Nice! I'm more into the Charly Brown's kite's skills -I haven't try to fly one since I was a kid... But I got a small drone, bigger than a toy, smaller and cheaper than the "real thing", that I just register. I'll try to fly it at the park soon, if there is no one watching (mostly all NYC ...

Re: Sony passes Nikon
That's a good question. Based on what you can buy in stores here in Peru, Canon is way out in front, Nikon is 2nd, and Sony is a distant 3rd in interchangeable lens cameras. However, when you just consider mirrorless only, the race is closer with Sony and Panasonic at the top. Once again, this is o...

Interesting article titled "Sony Overtakes Nikon in the Full Frame Interchangeable Lens Camera Market." http://www.thephoblographer.com/2017/04/14/sony-just-took-2-spot-full-frame-interchangeable-lens-camera-market/?utm_content=buffer6a468&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com...

Re: Sony passes Nikon
Your possibly right, but Canon will be the toughest hurdle both US and global to cross. Stores are good indicators of trends, Panasonic is a big seller because of its high reputation as a great movie camera. Makes you wonder where Pentax are on the global scale of things, would be interesting to se...

Re: A recent trip into Colca Canyon
Pako, Jeff, It is always devastating when these calamities occur. I hope the suffering is not severe. Are these typical seasonal events or atypical this year? Just curious. Sury This is a bad year. It usually happens on El Niño years, but El Niño was last year, so I guess this are the left overs, a...

Re: A recent trip into Colca Canyon
One condor flew by real close, but by the time I got my camera back up to my eye, it was gone. I couldn't believe how big it was. Parts of the country are really having a hard time. Adobe houses are collapsing in the north, people and livestock are caught in flash floods and run-off. People are los...

Re: A recent trip into Colca Canyon
It is the end of the rainy season, this year is not that bad in the south of Peru, but the Central Andes and the north of the country is really suffering flooding and landslide :-/sury wrote:Excellent set, Jeff. I presume it is fog in #2 and #4.
You mean walk down in to the canyon?

Re: Show us PORTRAITS
Pako, that is very nice. I like the processing also. I recall that my best buddy bought a Nikon N8008 (F-801) in the late 1980s. It was his first AF SLR. He still has it and has never gone to digital. Well, other than the occasional smartphone photo. The 8008 was definitely a great camera, an...

This is an old one, from the time I was living in Paris: Monsieur Charles AznavourMost probably Nikon 808s and Nikkor 135 f2.8 on slide, scanned and processed with Hisptamatic TinType app on iOS 2...
