Re: HVL-F58AM flash gun
Also on this flash can you set crtl mode 2 while it's on the A700 ? in that mode it's supposed to be able to control the 36 and 56AM flashes wirelessly but I'm not clear on whether this in reserved only for the A900 and any other cameras that come out without a flash built in Javelin, here is quite...

Re: HVL-F58AM flash gun
Appearantly the Metz 58AF-1 will be updated soon to be able to function with the A900... A very nice lady at Photokina told me that this will be done per firmware fix within the next few months... So that might be a cheaper alternative in case we actually have to buy 6 flashguns... But that indicate...

Re: HVL-F58AM flash gun
Well that is good news indeed. It is so weird that I have to ask these questions after having handled the flash in Cologne on the Alpha 900. Here is a picture of the connector: http://www.sony.de/product/dsa-flashes---lights/fa-cc1am I believe it might work, since it is angled. Thanks Javelin for pr...

Re: Did I miss something here....
After reading what's available on the A900 I don't recall reading anything on the processor bit size (12/14/16bit) on colour handling? Did I just missed this info somewhere? Also, has anyone done any testing on the dynamic range of the A900 as opposed to the A700? I think this would be interesting ...

Re: HVL-F58AM flash gun
Thanks. I am just wondering: What is their solution? They sell the FA-CS1AM ("Blitzschuh für externen Blitz HVL-F36AM", sorry I checked the German page) especially for the ols HVL-F36 flashgun, but there is no indication how they expect to connect the FA-CC1AM ("Kabel für externen Bli...

HVL-F58AM flash gun
Hi all,
Just one question:
Does the HVL-F58AM have the same 4-pin-connector than the 5600HS? So can I use the OC-1100 cable with it?
Thanks
Jonathan

Sigma 50 f1.4 HSM
Hi all, I went to Photokina on Friday and had the opportunity to check out the newest HSM lenses. I absolutely fell in love with the new 50/1.4: http://lh4.ggpht.com/jonathankaell/SN-q-OBQ8LI/AAAAAAAABa8/SXqkx0tKW9w/s800/test_sigma_50_HSM.jpg 100% crop: http://lh5.ggpht.com/jonathankaell/SN-q-XiA7GI...

Re: At the zoo
Thanks Jonathan, but still am not that good in PP. But I agree with you. As for the elephant's look, I just asked him whether he knows who will be elected in November, Obama or McCain. And that's the answer. Hi Doctor, I took the liberty to play around with your files (I hope you don't mind)....

All right, I don't like to repost things I have posted earlier, but then again....
I apologize to those that saw it already...
By the way, Birma, I really like the second one.

Re: Does A700 with v4 use less power?
That wil be hard to check, now that I have upgraded. But I believe I remember that I had AUTO ISO before, so that should not have made a huge difference.
Thanks for the tip anyway.

Very very nice...
For me it always a lotery whether such a shot works or not. So far I have not managed to get a clue why.
This definitely works... A very expressive face the old man has...
Great.

Re: Does A700 with v4 use less power?
HI there, I didn't notice that, since I review so much on the camera LCD, which drains power like h.e.l.l. But on the other hand I noticed that the file size changed: I always hat 623 Jpeg + Raws on a 16GB card, now it is 642... Not that it makes a huge difference. But welcome anyway. Cheers Jonathan

Re: At the zoo
Hi Doctor, nice shots they are... thanks for posting. Do you mind if I fuss around a bit? If I had to do it I might cheat a little and eliminate the blue lines on the rock behind the elephant's head, the same goes for the upper left corner for the bird (stork?)... I would just PP it away. It is a bi...

Re: Beercan on Alpha 900
Wasn't the beercan a Leica design? How can we expect a manufacturer cooperating with Zeiss to produce a lens designed by Leica?
I am very happy I got one when they were cheap.
