Lucky you...

Re: 17-35mm at 35mm

Well I suppose the A900's AF correction will also help a lot... I never felt I could get a picture like that from my 17-35, mostly because the focus would fail in 9 out of 10 cases... Even after BF adjustment, the 7D did not focus correctly and all pictures were kind of unsatisfactory... One more re...

Re: A900 DRO+3 and 17-35mm D results

No vignetting correction is applied at all, the aperture is f/11. Some fill light and highlight recovery have been used, together with -0.4 exposure in ACR, to optimise the tonal range which as you can see included a large area of shadow. David The lack of vignetting really strikes me... I remember...

Re: ACR 4.6 beta

Besides the added support for the latest cameras, usually there are bugfixes or all kinds of major or minor improvements to the internal algorithms ... but Adobe won't tell us. And we have no idea how often 'usually' actually is. Generally you want to update to the latest version even if you don't ...

ACR 4.6 beta

Hi all,

I saw that David has used ACR 4.6 beta for the conversion of an A900 pic. But I would like to address everybody who has upgraded to ACR 4.6..

Has there been any other change than only adding support of the 5 mentioned cameras? Or is there a change in IQ?
Thanks

Thanks, David,

certainly looks encouraging.
By the way, you used the ACR 4.6 Beta. Any thoughts?
I will start a thread on the "Workflow" forum, I would be very interested in the results, certainly with the A700 v4.

Cheers Jonathan

yep; it can be connected by the HDMI port, not necesarely wireless... but a touch screen a la IPod
Why not combine it with the remote control? That would be the best form of live view....

Re: I played with an A900 today

My list of criticisms is growing faster than my list of 'wow!' factors right now. Hmm, I am really looking forward to hearing your opinion on this camera. I actually refused to get involved in comparing pictures etc because I expect (or is is hope) that there will be a A700v4-like upgrade for the A...

Re: A900 DRO+3 and 17-35mm D results

Hello David, thanks for sharing. I am starting to believe it was a good idea not to listen to my colleagues and sell the 17-35. I found I had no use for it since I got the Tamron 11-18, even if there is a gap between that one and the KM 28-75, I never missed that 10mm... Don't ask me why. Supposedly...

Hi Kevin, why'd you tell anybody? Of course the second picture was taken when you were about to reach the tip of the Mont Blanc... :D Seriously, I actually prefer the 4. one, although I might have taken the composition a little different, maybe a bit higher. The red leaves are too centered for my ta...

Robbie, this picture is gorgeous... brilliant colours, nice composition, everything right. Next to showing your excellent skills, it makes a very good plea for the lens you used... I am just not that patient. Thanks for posting, still the best reason for visiting sites like this one is the chance to...

Re: Bird in Flight

Gee Dr Harout, I believe I would travel a few thousand miles to get a good shot of a bee eater... Once when I was at the Adriatic coast in Croatia I saw a kingfisher and I mistook it for a bee eater... I nearly got a heart attack. But then it was dark already and there was no way I could get it dece...

Re: Artists' portraits

Hi there, Thanks a lot for your comments! The violinist's portrait, esp. #1 and #2 really make it! In #3 the dark side of the face seems to be *very* dark - could be that's only my laptop monitor. Would you mind to share some words about the lighting for these? Was it intelligently used window light...

Re: A700 V4 available (officially!)

So what do you believe Marc Weir meant when he said "A700 v.4 and more??
Was it IDS 3? Or do they have something else up their sleeves?

Well, too bad IDS 3 is not available for Mac yet.
