Re: lens Choice

Pako, Thank you for the input and the offer. My wife's nephew did the trip last summer and we are using his trip as guideline. We are leaving on Friday afternoon from San Francisco to Dallas and a red eye to Lima. 3 hours layer in Lima and then to Cuzco. Day 1 - acclimatization in Cuzco this is the...

Re: lens Choice

Hi Sury, Do you still have the A900? if yes, take both. Because you will want that 24mm. Or get (rent?) a UWA -BTW, I saw there is now a special on the Tamron 11-16. I have no idea about the Tamron 24-70 quality, I think it might be OK, specially on a APS camera. I love my Sony Zeiss 24-70 f2.8 and ...

Re: Blurb B&W photo books

This (the email you got) are photo books printed on photo paper (silver halide) -the same product we have been offering for 5 or 6 years already. The best quality you can get for photo books. Okay, that sounds really good. I uploaded the PDF for the book I made with Blurb to Adorama and discovered ...

Hey Henry, This (the email you got) are photo books printed on photo paper (silver halide) -the same product we have been offering for 5 or 6 years already. The best quality you can get for photo books. We are technically capable of printing book on digital press (Indigo) and to print them on black ...

Re: Post about the A7R II up now

We expect to see a Nikon AI-S compatible adaptor soon and that would make the Voigtlander into a properly EXIF coupled lens for non-shift shots. I am not sure it's the best though, it's good but a Zeiss 18mm in Canon EF mount used on an adaptor would be better. well, the Zeiss is a 1200 $ lens, and...

Re: Post about the A7R II up now

Sony doesn't really make the lens line-up I would want: 16 or 17mm f/4, 24mm f/2.8, 35mm f/2, 50mm f/2, 85mm f/2, 105mm f/2.8 macro, 100-300mm f/4.5-6.3 apo zoom, 24-85mm or 105mm f/4 compact G level zoom (similar in size to the Minolta 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 or 24-105mm). 35mm became my "normal&qu...

Re: Here is the new Sony A68

Still can't get over Sony using that 2.7 rear screen from A58. Why not 3"? Baffling. Just find 2.7" too small on my A58. I haven't check all the aspects of this new camera. I can only imagine the body size, small, fit better a 2.7 screen. I find no interest on this camera, other than the ...

Re: Post about the A7R II up now

Pako - the 28mm f/2 has lots of distortion for a fixed focal length, but it's not as extreme as the correction applied to for example the 24-240mm or the little 16-50mm for APS-C. I find it one of the best lenses I've got and it compares well with what I was out using today - Tamron 35mm f/1.8 and ...

The full (..) review is now up http://www.photoclubalpha.com/2015/10/29/sony-a7r-ii-review-by-david-kilpatrick/ Interesting in general, specially on how Sony handle the mount imperfection tolerance... Re: My second Sony breakdown!

There is not such a thing as problem-free camera. I use my cameras intensively and I've been lucky not having a camera dying on my hands since... Nikon 8008 in 1994. Twice. In other hand, I don't expect the cameras to last forever. I've been upgrading cameras every 2 or 3 years, and I have many diff...
