No indication, but if they plan to lay off promoting and stocking the A100 into outlets, the AA can not be a super expensive model. I would guess 1200 Euro .

It even comes with a remote control!

Unfortunatley it looks like they have changed the battery, but the plus side is you get a % readout of charge remaining.(both baterries showing if using the optional grip)

Hope that they put the details back up soon.

Can't wait to see the reviews from David and DPReview. I've read that it does not have LIVEVIEW. Oh well, wasn't on my wish list anyway but it would have been a nice 'bling.' Perhaps when the dust settles, I can purchase one to be my main camera (my a100 can be my backup) in January or February. The enhanced AF sounds interesting - I love technology!

Is it me, or does it's base specs make the 40D look a little sad? If Sony can price it nearer the £1000 rather than the £1400 of the D300, then buyers looking for features rather than a name could be enticed.

I've put a page up with all the specs as copied from the site by others - I was out shooting a test of a Tamron 28-300mm VC (image stabilised) lens today, and it only came in Canon fit, so while all this was flaring up, I was messing around with a 1D MkIII and an EOS 5D courtesy of a keen Canonite who met up with me to help out.

Looks great but I need samples.

I was not buying immediately anyway - if ever. Not sure if I will use the camera to its fullest capabilities. I just want SONY to move forward and rattle the market a bit.

Take the A700 for a test drive David and let us know how you feel about its performance. Please compare to the A100 whenever possible since this is what I have.
