Yes, that is a good Photoshop job as the A330/380 are missing. Sony would not be behind this and leaving in A300/350 but missing out A330/380. What an elementary mistake.

Furthermore I cannot believe that Sony would release a 14Mp FF and call it A750. If there is an A750 surely it will be APS-C. It may have the A550 sensor and a fuller spec. similar to the A700. It may also have some form of more advanced video. If there is a new A750 and Javelin's post

Anyway the point of my story is, when the rep was looking me up and checking on the focus screen parts the rep accidentally looked up an A750 and the type M screen part number didn't match exactly what I had given them and they actually asked me if I had an A700 or A750. to which I asked if they had an A750 listed there .. the Rep clammed up then and wouldn't talk about anything they had previously said on the subject and just told me about the A700. This could have been just an accident or a typo. but it seemed like the rep was looking at real information while they spoke. So I believe there is an A750 imminent.

may lend some credence to that suppositon, then I would put my money on it having an APS-C sensor.

By all means it WILL be an APS-C.
Full frame is just right with the higher end A900 at 3k and the hi-lower end A850 at 2k.
A Canon 7D and Nikon D300s midrange DSLR is all Sony is missing. Both are APS-C and without a doubt the A750 will be APS-C.

I agree... if this "new" FF 14MPx sensor is true, it will be to a900 camera level or higher...

Might it not be an A800? Carl Garrard has said that A800 has been mentioned as the name if a future Alpha camera. Furthermore, in response to my question as to whether he believes there will be two A7xx cameras, Carl said no, that he believes there will be an A7xx and an A800. Given the presence if A850, doesn't that imply that the A800 will be FF?

The "a800" name can be reserved to a low resolution affordable FF camera...
I doubt Sony put different size sensor in the same camera serie.

If its a Full Frame sensor... then that says that the A550 is what Sony sent to take on the Nikon D300S and the Canon 7D - I don't like that.

I think its quite possible that Sony will release a Sony A750 thats an R sensor and with 7fps at 14mp and be a cool-killer DSLR.

I think they have made room (because of the crappy naming conventions A900, A850, A700 for example) that they may release an A800 as a low end $1600 full frame dslr and call it the lowest costing full frame system on the market (but they will probably strip it down 3-5fps, 90% viewfinder magnification and other f-u's that we dont want.... but will make it finally the low noise answer Sony needs but with tradeoffs).

Yes, I would like it...

An a800 with a 14MPx FF, a900/a850 body, 5fps, OVF 0.74X/98% and ISO 100-> 25600 for $1600 will be a superbomb in the FF DSLR market.

$1600 for 14MP? too much, when you can get 24MP for $2K. If they're going to do an 800 with less than 24MP, then you have to go at least 18 or 20MP. Otherwise, they blow the line, IMHO. You can't have such a low spec FF camera coming in at such a high price, and going with a lower price will put it in direct competition with the APS-C models.

I dont know if I'd quote 14mp as "low spec" when the A700 was only 12mp and accepted and the Nikon D2x, D300, D700 and D3 are all 12mp dslrs that kick ass. If it is a 14mp Full Framer it'll be less dense than the A700 and the A100!! That has no reason to not mean less noise! Think of it... finally a Sony DSLR that shoots ISO 1600 and 3200 on par with Nikon D3 and D700 levels or better? That combined with 7fps will make it worth while (screw liveview), just ad more cross type focus points its time for 30+ cross type af points Minolta (ERRR SONY)hiccup!

Yes, but you would be getting with a FF 14MPx about 1 or 2 step of IQ/noise from a900.
Sony could give you 24Mpx and ISO 6400 for $2000 and 14MPx and ISO 25600 between $1500-$2000, a good deal. You can add one of the best OVF (0.74X-98%) and 5-7fps. How much is the D700?
