ALTERNATIVE ROKKOR DSLR ?

Hi

Just a thought .

An adapter which permits infinty focus for Redundant Rokkors is available for 4/3rds DSLRS.

I have no idea if this is '' OFF TOPIC " , but adapting much loved Minolta lenses to digital seems pretty awkward . and surely lenses are as important as camera bodies ?

I use a Leica Digilux 3 , which has a '' trad '' aperure ring and shutter dial . I also bought a Panasonic L 1 body for £250 , which , to me is a budget conscious entry into using those treasured lenses . I have 24/28/35/45several 50s/ 85/135 - and old Vivitar 100 , new Vivitar 24/28/100macro

Of course , on 4/3rds , these focal lengths are doubles [ shades of Olympus half frame ? ]

Prices for these admittedly outdated cameras seem to be tumbling from their overpriced beginnings - but they have a magnesium ally body and real metal top and bottom plates !

It's also the closest that you will ever get to a trad chrome DSLR in the style of an SRT / Leica rangefinder [ deranged finder ? ]

Just so you don't think that I have abandoned Minolta - my twin SRs and matching SR7v are still my favourite Minoltas - though I have twin black and twin chrome SRTs of the 1st issue non cross-head screws and later versions .

This seems like a lively forum ... just got to find out how to post pics !

That's interesting. We have just been using an Oly E-510 for a bit with their 7-14mm lens (impressive). Where do you get the adaptor for SR/MC mount lenses from?

For a few years now, I am waiting for the Chinese to develop a digital SLR body with Minolta SR mount ... Seagull, maybe?
