Compare Canon 1Ds MKIII, 5D MKII, Nikon D3 with Sony a900.
So this will be a great tool against all those jerks who see Canon as "the one and only"!

Not sure how this is flattering to Sony at all... the D3, 5DII, and 1DsIII all go into the hundreds of thousands of clicks before average failure, while the Sony a900 is in the 70,000 click range.

Kevin, pay good attention to the table. Percentage of failures much before 70,000 are there for the Canons!

Hmm the database suggests one user has a Canon 400d that has 1,977,071 … 3,756,299 shutter actuations and still works!
I'd have quite a few doubts as to how useful the information is

Well, this means my A900 should be dead since a long time

(even after falling down on rock many time, going outside in -40c shooting and trying to imitate submarine).
But interesting information, thanks.

I'm concerned with the potential shutter lifespan of the SLT's, using a double duty shutter.
