Need a TTL Cord and Flash Bracket for HVL-F56AM

Unread post by Ivan Watkins »

Where can I find a bracket and cord that will work (without modification) with my A700/Vertical grip and flash?

There are some Kenko and Hama brackets which have been made that use a shoe fitted via a tripod-type thread. I have one of these (an early design intended for macro work). The cord you need is either the Minolta Cable OC (Off-camera flash cable) with Shoe OC, or Sony FACC1AM cable with shoe FACS1AM. The costs are pretty high, so finding a complete secondhand Minolta Cable OC and Off-Camera Shoe is a better bet. If you are interested I can sell you a Minolta VC-1 flash bracket (originally made for supporting a video light with their video cameras) for a small sum, I have one left lying around which came back from an 'undelivered' sale I had replaced. This bracket is fairly easy to customize for the OC shoe. Email me [email protected] if this sounds useful.

Thanks to a poster over at dpreview they shared with me The Promaster off camera ttl cord. I used it this Saturday for a wedding and it worked very well with my flash.
