With my job I shoot mostly in the dark and have over time found myself in really dark situations. Please refer back to my Flickr listed below to get more information but these pictures should give a good idea of how great this camera is in low light. I dont do Photoshop and have not adjusted exposure on any of these shots

Sorry took a bit longer to reply. As an even greater testament to the A700 all those pictures were shot using my stock 18-70mm kit lensKevinBarrett wrote:Nice job! Settings, lens used?

Mary's shot is awesome, though a bit of cropping from the bottom would be great imho.

Re: a700 ability
Thank you sir! I personally dont edit my shots at all, they get uploaded straight from the camera essentially. I have a pet-peeve against Photoshop but do see good merit with crops to make shots look tighter. I always love you suggestions as to crops because to be very honest that would be my worst insight Here are some more!Dr. Harout wrote:Mary's shot is awesome, though a bit of cropping from the bottom would be great imho.

Re: a700 ability
I am glad I have stumbled onto this post, I also have an A700 and am having heaps of trouble with night shots.
Can you please tell me a bit more about the shots, were you using a flash? External or on camera.
What do you find is your best night time lens? I noticed you used two different ones, what is the deciding factor for using either lens. Were you using a tripod?
Sorry if my questions are silly but I am new to this.
10/10 for not adjusting your photos, at least we get to see the real photo the camera is capable of.

Re: a700 ability
Hi I'm with Michelle on the silly questions front. I'd love to know. My sone is doing music at college and uni and I took a few of his gig at college but they were rubbish as I havent a clue how to set the camera for indoor low light stuff. How do you get the light as per the stage lighting and do you use a flash, or gels. Any advice you can give would be great as you are clearly a master at this!!
