Scan Dual II question.

The manual for Scan Dual II says that scans can be saved as .bmp,.jpg or .tif (preferred by me) but in setting up .tif doesn`t appear to be a choice to save in. 
or have I missed something?
BTW,is Windows .bmp a lossless format?
