Could you add a 100% crop?

It's about what you expect before sharpening.

I'd be happy with that. Like david said, it is as sharp as can be expected without PP sharpening. Any percieved lack of sharpness might lie in the fact that it doesn't have sensationally high contrast, but that is neither your fault nor a detriment at all. It is a lovely picture...stop pixel-peeping and take some more like it!

Thanks David, Kevin and Doc

I was happy with the shot, I find I do get drawn into this pixel-peeping stuff. :( I just picked up my first batch of 6x4's, 100 odd pics from our trip to seaword/movie world and was very suprised at how much better the 6x4 look than the pics look on the LCD monitor, the a350 has really nice colour
and I printed one 8x12 of a stiched photo and was very happy with it.

I want to print a shot of the spoonbills has a 8x12 to see how it comes up, the photo I posted was a croped photo, is it better to upsize a photo before making your final crop?

They look fine too me allright. Sharpness is OK, exept the last one where I can't discover the sharp centre.

The 1st image in your 2nd post is superb. I love the balance, and the whole black / white duality thing is a bonus.
Just think, if they were snakes, it would have a whole new meaning for Dr. Harout.
Isn't it fun?
