First or second (maximum 4-th or 5th ) try for BIF

A levels/white balance clean up in Photoshop will improve this greatly. I don't photograph these very often, at least not from directly underneath them

Yes, freeing up that sky to the top and left means the clipped wingtips are not so bad - it looks more like a compositional choice now. Richard (son) came round just now with the Sigma 300-800mm monster on his Nikon D3, he was due to try to take this HUGE bit of glass to Florida. I've persuaded him not to. We will instead take the lens to Edinburgh Zoo on Thursday with the D3 and D700, along with the 70-300mm SSM and the 500mm mirror on A700/200/350. Maybe the 70-200mm SSM with 2X converter too. Since there are always hooded crows and gulls circling above the enclosures in the zoo, looking for spare food, checking the AF on BIF should be possible but the 300-800mm lens can not easily be hand held.

Very nice improvement on the seagull image Dr. Harout, now it suggests more of a theme.
And that parrot sure is very cute and the head bent sideways and the intense staring suggests a definite interest in the camera and the shooter Sonolta.

And last but not least, David, looks like it's going to be a very busy day with a very big bundle of equipment in the zoo for you all! This experience deserves a whole new thread of its own I think, because of the variety involved and thoughts may be shared later. Hopefully it'll be an enjoyable and colourful day if a little wrist-trying under the load while manouvering the cameras handheld.
