Very nice shots, Valery.

Was the last one taken from a high point or were you airborne? Your position seems right in the middle of the waterway.

Absolutely beautiful location, Valery.
The mountain range is spectacular and I suppose we see the Prince of Wales Hotel on top of a hill. :D Lovely!

One would think that it is not possible to take any worthwhile photos with anything that is not expensive and/or the newest. Let's have a tribute thread to lowly tiny sensor digicams and the photos we have made with them!

Please post photos you like that were taken with a tiny sensor (smaller than 4/3) camera or camera phone. EDIT: See new message right below. Let's celebrate photography in this thread! I know that if Sonolta was still here he would participate, but we can get this thing going too!

EDIT on 2014/7/16: Sensors no larger than 2/3". When I started this thread in 2010 all the sensors smaller than 4/3 were much smaller. Since then though there are lots of new cameras with 1" sensors from Sony, Nikon, and Panasonic. Those are fairly large sensors so let's keep this thread to the tiny sensors that were originally intended. Somewhere buried in this thread a year or two ago I posted saying the same thing, but I think it would be better to update this original post with the info.
I think this thread I started in 2010 is the most popular thread in the history of this forum! Over 11 years ago!

11 good years!

You opened the pandora's box/door, Henry. :) Glad you did with the advances in all types of cameras nowadays this thread could last for a very long time.

Lately I have been getting videos popping up on youtube of a bunch of teenagers and 20-somethings using old, cheap digicams from 10-20 years ago. 3-4-5-6 megapixels, usually. Can often be bought for $5-25. Of course, they all have smartphones with cameras, but many love having a real, dedicated camera. Many also say that they used film for a while, but the film and processing are just so expensive and, of course, if they want to show photos on social media or in email they then have to pay to get the film scanned. Anyway, they have discovered old, cheap digicams and are in love. :-) For most of them even these digicams are either from before they were born or when they were little kids.

Today I saw this new article:

The Hottest Gen Z Gadget Is a 20-Year-Old Digital Camera

https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/07/tech ... canon.html

Here is a small album of a few of my tiny sensor digicam photos:

I still occasionally use a tiny sensor digicam. I still have 4 with me here in Japan.
