Re: 40C IR shots in Armenia
Hi Armen - great to see some more of your IR pictures - I especially like the second and the last pictures. I like the colours in the second picture, and the stark contrast in the last. So you have had a P&S camera altered for IR images? How is it working out? Which camera did you use?

Nice series Armen. My favorites mirror Birma's.. #1 makes me think of some kind of Candyland on acid. A very cool effect. Were these procesed with Photoshop to channel switch?? John

Re: 40C IR shots in Armenia
Hello!!
Thank you for comments!!
I want to mention that I have used here 680nm filter which allows me not to swithc the channels in photoshop but only decrease red saturation in Lightroom and shift the white balance to the yellow a bit, this method is easier and much more effective. I have used modified Canon A610 5Mpx. I bought it used for $100 and took out the hot mirror which was on CCD, at first I damaged the CCD but after I ordered a new CCD and replaced it, and now I have woderful IR camera but only 5Mpx. By the way after processing even in lightroom some noises rise which should be eliminated. I want also to mention that 680 nm filter is much more flexible in getting nicer colorful pics..
Now my dream is to get cheap mirror camera and modify that one and to make it IR cmaera because although the pictures are nice with P&S camera but they don't satisfy me, I mean the quality and noises even under ISO50 are tremendous..
Regards
Armen

Re: 40C IR shots in Armenia
Hi Armen,
You're getting better with the compositions and the processing in IR photography. : )
I particularly enjoyed the first photo of the first post and 1st and 3rd photos of the second post.

Spectacular series, Armen! I like the dreamy gradations in the second shot, myself.

Re: 40C IR shots in Armenia
Great series, Armen. I loved the yellow panorama before the jump shot the best.
