Holiday days out - York

We have a couple of weeks off work, but are going out for days rather than going away this year. I thought I would share some pics as I go along

First few are from York - we went there on Tuesday and had good day out - there are a number of street entertainers

Nice pics Paul - I like the juggler especially - great expression. Looking forward to some puffins hopefully .

You've got some strange stuff there Paul. What’s the red splosh on the jesters face, and why is the purplemans (who or what is he all about?) apparel looking like it’s in a strong headwind but he looks stationary? The juggler is a good one, looks like a very clever act, and it's a good shot I think also.

The red splosh is fake blood, there are a team of actors who take you round the Dungeon and outline the rather bloody history of the city.
The purpleman has been in York for ages, the clothes are starched or have wires to make them look like they are blowing in the wind, as to what its about who knows (street art)

Here are a few more from York, inside the Minster i was quite dark and I didn't have a tripod, so I used iso 1250 and HDR to get the shots. Looking forward to low noise high ISO in the A77

The Minster interior looks spectacular, Paul. Amazing when you think of the technology available when they built it - although they did work over a pretty extended timescale, compared to modern demands on ROI .

Great shots Paul- You have certainly showcased some of the local characters. What is Purpleman's act? Does he just sit still looking like he is moving fast, or does he do other things?
Those HDR shots of the Minster interior are fantastic. The architecture and details are astounding. John

Thanks for sharing some of the best and intricate Gothic Church interiors I've seen to date. Very nice giant tinted glass also. The parade looks wild and colourful while looking authentic. I'm sure it's fun to see them when walking down one's street. : )

Another fabulous building Paul, interesting style to overcome the low light and get the dof, sort of like the other ones, a bit like an etching or something, but I like that artsy style anyway, makes the photo look period...kind of.
