sel50f18 auto-panorama (Brenzier effect)

I've tried today the SEL50F18 in automatic panorama mode to achieve the Brenzier -like effect (shallow DOF on wide angle). My daughter offered some help as model:

Very nice. How does the camera do it. Take multiple shots and overlay or you pan the camera and
camera does the stitching? Just curious.
I find the transition a tad abrupt, is that the effect is supposed to be like that?

Hallo Sury,

It's a cool function of the new generation of sony cameras. In this panorama mode, you just pan with your camera and it does the stitching by itself (only problem is size limit and jpeg only).
Actually this was the supposed effect to have a very shallow depth of field on wide angle photo. To achieve similar with a single shoot you would need a very fast wide angle lens (non-existing f0.3 or below).
